David A. Bowman, age 73 of Monroe, died Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. He was born on January 30, 1943 in Monroe, the son of Salmer and Tena (Peterson) Bowman Sr. He graduated from Monroe High School. His first job was at Apple Grove Cheese factory and then he went to work for Bruni Miller and Kuhne Lumber, he also owned and operated David A. Bowman builders. David was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, The Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge # 754.
He is survived by his son, Steve (Sue) Bowman of Onalaska, WI; 3 daughters: Darci Ann Bowman of Monroe, Dawn (Mike) Kollatz of Albany, and Shari Guth of Monroe; 8 grandchildren; a brother, Stanley (Madelyn) Bowman of Monticello; sisters: Donna (Donald) Ott of Verona, and Deanne (Dean) Signer of Monroe; brother-in-law, Willis Kolden. He was preceded in death by his parents, sons: Heath Bowman and a son in infancy; a brother, Salmer Bowman Jr.; sister, Coleen Kolden.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 7, 2016 at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home, with Pastor John Tabaka officiating. A visitation will take place from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Friday, May 6, 2016 at the funeral home, with a Moose service at 7:00 pm. Memorials may be given in David's name to the Moose Lodge or Grace Lutheran Church.
