Dalen G. Friedrichs, age 80 of Janesville, formerly of Monroe, died Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Our House Memory Care in Janesville. He was born on March 22, 1935 in Freeport, Illinois; the son of Fred and Alice (Frehner) Friedrichs. He graduated from Monroe High school in 1953. He served 2 years in the Navy. Dalen and Leona M. Johnson were married on October 6, 1956 in Monroe. Dalen worked as an Electrician for several companies. He belonged to Grace Lutheran Church and Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge #754. He was active in Boy Scouts and a leader for many years. His hobbies included bowling and golfing.
He is survived by his children: David (Laura) Friedrichs of Madison, Anne (George) Stokes of Las Vegas, NV and Sarah (David) Boatman of McKinney, TX; 4 grandchildren: Colin and Harper Friedrichs and Eric and Leah Boatman; brother, Delmer Friedrichs of Stoughton, WI; sisters-in-laws: Nancy Friedrichs of Monroe, and Shirley Friedrichs of Orangeville. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 4 brothers: Walter, Milo, Milton and Vernon; sisters-in-law, Frances Friedrichs and Bernice Friedrichs.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Grace Lutheran Church, with Pastor John Tabaka officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service, at the church. SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home is assisting the family.
