Curtis L. Diemer, 90, of Freeport, died Monday February 27, 2017 in his home. Curtis was born March 28, 1926 in Dakota, the son of Vernon and Mary (Christensen) Diemer. He served during the Korean War for the U.S. Army. Curtis married Sharon Patterson on April 11, 1953, in Dubuque, Iowa. He farmed the Orangeville area until 1985; he then worked at Orangeville High School as a custodian. Curtis also worked at DeMeester Lawn & Garden during the summer time. He was a member of Orangeville United Methodist Church where he was on the Pastor Parish Committee. Curtis was also a member of the Orangeville School Board and American Legion (McConnell). He enjoyed bowling and following local sports, especially all Orangeville Broncos teams. One of his greatest joys was riding his Oliver Tractors on Matt's Farm.

Surviving are three sons, Kim Diemer (Pam Gilbertson) of Monroe, WI., Brad (Vicki) Diemer of Orangeville, and Eric Diemer (Tanya Nicks) of Monroe, WI.; two daughters, Denise (Dennis) Rackow of Freeport and Amy (Tony) Krueger of Freeport; special friend, Mary Louise Foster; sister-in-law, Pauline Kent of Janesville, WI.; nine grandchildren, Nikolas (Katherine) Diemer, Mandi Diemer (Eric Kirk), Shane (Christy) Rackow, Ashley (Matt) Wilke, Derik (Liz) Diemer, Tasha Diemer, Hannah Blum, Chloe Blum and Jada Love; also surviving are eight great-grandchildren.

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Mary Diemer; wife, Sharon Diemer; brother, Luther Diemer; and sister, Bette Lou Obert.

Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday March 3, 2017 at Orangeville United Methodist Church. Pastor Judy Sherk and Rev. Bill Blomberg will officiate. A memorial has been established in Mr. Diemer's memory. Please sign his guestbook and share a remembrance at www.burketubbs.com.
