MONROE - Green County Crime Stoppers are seeking information about a gas siphoning incident that resulted in a fire that destroyed a truck in rural Brodhead.
Shortly after 10 p.m. on Friday, July 4, the Brodhead Fire Department was called to a residence along Golf Course Road, a short distance west of County E, for a report of a truck on fire at a private residence. Green County deputies were later called to the scene.
Initial investigation indicates an unknown person or persons siphoned gasoline from vehicles parked outside of the residence. One of the vehicles, a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, caught fire and was destroyed. The fire either was intentionally set or started accidentally while gasoline was being siphoned.
