Colonel James A. Behring (USAF Retired), 63, of Newport News, Virginia went home to be with his lord Jesus Christ, on Dec. 31, 2014. He died at home after a long courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Jim was born March 23, 1951, the eldest son of late Charles and Grace (Hauri) Behring. He graduated from Juda High School as well as the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs. He also served 36 years in the United States Air Force.
He is survived by two children: Tammy Behring and Chris (Rebecca) Behring and five grandchildren; Jordan, Avery, Alex, Gwendalyn and Drew, all of Virginia.
Brothers: Dan (Kelly) Behring of Monroe, Wi.; Rick (Tanna) Behring of Arkansas; Gary (Mary Lou) Behring of Edgerton, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 26 years, Delma (Prentice) Behring.
A celebration of his life was held Jan. 3, 2015 at the Seaford Baptist Church in Virginia, where he was a proud and active member. A full military honors burial will be held at the Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
