Helen Louise Winkler, 38, Monroe, pleaded no contest Wednesday, Oct. 10, to misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct, battery and bail jumping. Related felony charges were dismissed. She was sentenced to two years of probation, with the conditions that she undergo anger management counseling and an assessment for abuse of alcohol and other drugs. She must also pay the costs of her supervision. Her court fines and fees total $1,802. The charges stem from three arrests this summer during domestic disputes in the 800 block of 8th Street in Monroe. In each case, police found that she was intoxicated and abusive.

Aaron Clyde Livas, 24, New Glarus, pleaded no contest Tuesday, Oct. 9, to charges of misdemeanor bail jumping and to his second and third offenses of driving while intoxicated. He is sentenced to 35 days in jail and two years of probation, with the conditions that he undergo an assessment for alcohol abuse. His court fines and fees total $3,252. Court records indicate he committed his second offense of driving while intoxicated July 22, 2011. The records further indicate on Oct. 22, 2011, Livas was intoxicated and driving from one Monroe bar to another when police stopped him; and on June 10, officers found him at Friendly Inn, 1335 17th St., in violation of a bond condition that he not enter any establishment that sells alcohol (besides grocery stores and gas stations).
Matthew P. Vincent, 55, Monroe, pleaded no contest Wednesday, Oct. 10, to a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct stemming from a domestic dispute Aug. 4 in the 2500 block of 10th Street in Monroe. A related charge of battery was dismissed. He is fined $542.
Deanna K. Schultz, 42, Brodhead, was charged Wednesday, Oct. 10, with a Class B misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct and a Class A misdemeanor charge of resisting or obstructing an officer, stemming from an incident Sept. 29 in the 900 block of 19th Street. Court records indicate she yelled and threatened a Brodhead Police officer and a Green County Sheriff's deputy and physically resisted arrest. Her initial appearance in court is Oct. 29.
