Felonies
Mitchell D. Bliss, 20, Belleville, was charged Oct. 31 with a Class H felony count of theft of movable property valued between $5,000 and $10,000 and a Class A misdemeanor count of criminal damage to property, stemming from a theft in July from the New Glarus Brewery, 2400 Wis. 69, New Glarus. Court records indicate Bliss stole a 2013 Legend enclosed trailer valued at about $4,000 and a 1999 Metalworks trailer valued at about $2,500, plus about $1,000 worth of conveyor rollers, forklift forks and pallets, and took them about a mile south of the brewery to the Voegeli Farm Quarry, W3538 Exeter Crossing Road, which is leased to Bjoin Limestone, Inc. At the quarry, he allegedly broke the gate locks, used a shovel to dent and smash the infrared cameras on-site and damaged one of the trailers by backing it to the quarry's edge. Bliss' signature bond is set at $3,000. He has a preliminary hearing Nov. 21.
Tyler Jonathon Meyer, 28, Blanchardville, was charged Nov. 1 with a Class H felony count of misappropriation of ID info to avoid penalty and a Class A misdemeanor count of obstructing an officer. Court records indicate he used his brother's ID during a traffic stop July 25 on County J at Poplar Grove Road in York Township. His signature bond is set at $500. His preliminary hearing is Dec. 4.
Steven Alexander Steiner, 20, Browntown, was charged Nov. 7 with a Class G felony count of possessing a firearm as an adjudged delinquent and a Class H felony count of bail jumping. Court records indicate he had a Stoeger 350 12-gauge shotgun in his bedroom from Nov. 1 to 6, after having been adjudicated of a Green County burglary in 2008 as a delinquent. His cash bond was set at $500 and his signature bond at $1,500 with the conditions that he not leave Green County without the permission of the court or accompanied by his father and have no contact with a girlfriend. Not-guilty pleas were entered in the case, and a pre-trial conference is set for Nov. 19.
Misdemeanors
Michael J. Korecz, 28, Belmont, was granted a one-year deferred prosecution Oct. 31 on a Class B misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. A charge of battery and a second count of disorderly conduct were dismissed. Conditions of his deferred prosecution agreement include paying $100 to the court, refraining from violent or abusive contact with the victim and her family, undergoing an alcohol- and drug-abuse assessment and attending quarterly monitoring conferences. The charges stem from an incident July 5 at a residence in Monroe in the 1300 block of 16th Street. Court records indicate Korecz yelled and screamed at his girlfriend, grabbed her around the neck, kicked her in the knee and threatened to "choke her where she sleeps."
