Green County Circuit Court Felonies
Zackary V. Webb, 22, Freeport, pleaded no contest May 22 to a Class A misdemeanor charge of taking and driving a vehicle without the owner's consent and then abandoning it. A Class I felony charge of driving a vehicle without the owner's consent was dismissed. Webb is fined $738. Court records indicate that on Jan. 12, 2009, Webb drove another person's 2005 Toyota Corolla around the Walmart parking lot in Monroe and also drove a 2004 Buick Rendezvous stolen from Freeport around the Green County area.
Misdemeanors
Tyler Joseph Smith, 26, jailed in Monroe, was sentenced May 20 to six months in jail, minus 80 days credit, for revoking his probation on convictions of battery and disorderly conduct. Court records indicate he violated terms of his probation by drinking, smoking marijuana, failing to follow through with a court-ordered anger assessment and failing to report to his agent. He was arrested March 4 in Dane County on a charge of driving while intoxicated and without a valid license. An agent's report indicates he also tested positive for opiates after the probation office received an anonymous tip he was using heroin. His conviction stems from a domestic incident on Fahey Road in Exeter Township in April 2012, when he was reported for hitting his 3-year-old son. Smith owes the court $486. He is eligible for Huber work-release so long as he remains alcohol- and controlled substance-free.
Kwasi Freedmen Rogers, 22, Richfield, Minn., pleaded no contest May 23 to a misdemeanor charge of possessing drug paraphernalia, stemming from an incident March 3 in Monroe. He was fined and owes the court $505. He pleaded not guilty to related charges of disorderly conduct and resisting an officer, and these charges were dismissed. Court records indicate Rogers was reported by bar staff at Friendly Inn, 1335 17th St., for being highly intoxicated and possibly not knowing where he was. Police found a marijuana grinder in his pocket. He reportedly tried to punch an officer and vomited in the back of the squad car on the way to the Monroe Clinic ER for a medical clearance.
