Felonies


• Jeremy D. Golackson, 42, Reedsburg, was granted a two-year deferred prosecution Friday, March 1, on a Class I felony charge of substantial battery and a Class B misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. The case will be fully dismissed against him in two years if he pays about $17,000 in restitution, attends quarterly monitoring conferences and continues counseling. The charges stem from an incident March 4, 2012. Court records indicate Golackson was drinking with his roommate at Old Smokey's, 1301 17th St., when the two men got into a fight over a golf-themed video game and Golackson straddled and repeatedly punched the other man. His restitution includes $1,630.79 to Green County EMS for transporting the injured man to Monroe Clinic, $1,055 to Madison Radiologists, $4,506.80 to the University of Wisconsin Health Systems and $9,711.18 to Monroe Clinic.

• Alan Brian Lee, 47, Monroe, was charged Thursday, Feb. 21, with a Class I felony count of criminal damage to property. Court records indicate he caused $3,409 in damages to a coworker's plow by smashing it while it was parked in the W5200 block of County KK in the Town of Monroe in September. His initial appearance in court is March 18.

• Brodie G. Flannery, 20, South Wayne, was charged Thursday, Feb. 21, with five Class H felony counts of forging checks. Court records indicate he forged checks over a few days last November in Monroe: $147.79 and $150.79 to AutoZone, 604 8th Ave.; $480.48 and $199.27 to Walmart, 300 6th Ave. W.; $43.67 to Kwik Trip, 1019 9th St.; and $46.02 to Kundert Oil, 317 8th St. He pleaded not guilty to all charges on March 4. His next court date is April 16.



Misdemeanors

• Carolyn S. Huerta Cordero, 41, Monroe, was granted a one-year deferred prosecution Wednesday, Feb. 27, on Class A misdemeanor charges of writing worthless checks on three occasions in 2011 and 2012: $37.61 to Kundert Oil Company, 317 8th St., Monroe; $12.66 to St. Vincent de Paul, 501 1st Ave., Monroe; and $152 to the Juda FFA Alumni Consignment Auction at Juda High School, N2385 Spring St., Town of Jefferson. She is ordered to pay $307.27 in restitution and $163 in court costs, complete a financial counseling program and attend quarterly monitoring conferences.

• Marquis Mekhi-Isaiah Phiffer, aka Marquis Mayo, 18, Monroe, pleaded no contest Thursday, Feb. 28, to a Class A misdemeanor charge of resisting/obstructing an officer. He is sentenced to one year of probation. Court records indicate he lied to an officer about the burglary of a home in the 500 block of West 21st Street in Monroe on Jan. 6.

• Troy L. Gempeler, 33, New Glarus, was charged Monday, Feb. 25, with a Class A misdemeanor count of resisting/obstructing an officer during a traffic stop Jan. 23 on Wisconsin 23 and County W in the Town of Exeter. Court records indicate that while a deputy was explaining a speeding ticket, Gempeler slammed his car into drive and sped off, wheels spinning, nearly running over the deputy's foot. When the deputy stopped him again, Gempeler allegedly charged toward him, flipped him off, swore at him and ignored repeated commands to get on the ground. Gempeler pleaded not guilty to the charge on March 4. His next court date is April 16.
