The court Monday sentenced Robert L. Short, 27, Baileyville, Ill., to one year probation and $1,225 in fines, after he pleaded no contest to possession of cocaine.
He faced more than three years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines as part of the plea agreement for the class I felony.
The court dismissed one count of possession of marijuana, a class I felony. He originally faced up to seven years in prison and up to $20,000 in fines, if convicted.
Court records indicate he had cocaine in his possession April 13 at Monroe Clinic.
Misdemeanors
The court Monday fined Robert P.W. Camper, 50, Albany, $476 after he pleaded no contest to obstructing an officer.
He faced up to nine months in jail and up to $10,000 in fines as part of the plea agreement for the class A misdemeanor.
The court dismissed a second charge of obstructing an officer, also a class A misdemeanor. He originally faced up to 18 months in jail and up to $10,000 in fines.
Court records indicate he gave officers a false name and a false date of birth March 24 in Albany.
The court Monday fined Joseph A. Scott, 29, Monroe, $324 after he pleaded no contest to disorderly conduct.
He faced up to three months in jail and up to $1,000 in fines as part of the plea agreement for the class B misdemeanor.
The court dismissed a charge of battery, a class A misdemeanor. He originally faced up to one year in jail and up to $11,000 in fines.
Court records indicate he argued with a woman and shoved his face into her face March 9 in Browntown.
The court Monday entered into a deferred prosecution agreement with John E. Payne, 40, Brodhead, who pleaded no contest to battery.
The charged will be dismissed in one year if he complies with the terms of the agreement.
