Felonies
- Johnathon T. Sutherland, 18, Albany, was found guilty on July 8, after pleading no contest to a charge of battery, a class A misdemeanor, stemming from an April 29, 2011 incident. Court records indicate that Sutherland intentionally shoved a victim into a desk, causing her hit the ground. He also kicked her in the stomach with steel-toed boots and grabbed her, causing her to fall off of a bed and strike her arm against the wall.
Sutherland was sentenced to 18 months of probation and fined $243.
- Nicholas D. Siegel, 18, Monroe, was sentenced on July 8 to 10 months in jail, five years probation, and fined $255 after being found guilty on April 6 of a charge of burglary, a class F felony, stemming from an Aug. 19 incident. Reports indicate that Siegel entered a residence on Mansion Drive in Monroe without the consent of the owner, with the intent to steal.
Siegel was sentenced to 10 months in jail which is to be served concurrent with the above crime; five years of probation, which is to be served concurrent with the above crime; and fined $268, after being found guilty on April 6 of another charge of burglary, stemming from an Oct. 19, 2010 incident. Reports indicate that Siegel intentionally entered a building in the 700 block of 16th Street, without the consent of the owner and with the intent to steal.
Misdemeanors
- Travis P. Burnett, 22. Machesney Park, Ill., was found guilty on July 8 after pleading no contest to a charge of resisting or obstructing an officer, a class A misdemeanor, stemming from April 30, 2011 incident. Burnett was fined $316.
- Christopher L. Pickett, 30, Monticello, was found guilty on July 11 after pleading no contest to a charge of disorderly conduct, an unclassified forfeiture, stemming from a March 7, 2010 incident.
He was fined $267.50.
