MONROE - Donald James Alexander, 21, South Wayne, stood mute Monday, Jan. 13 in Green County Circuit Court on two charges of forgery, class H felonies. He was released on $1,000 signature bond, with the conditions that he have no contact with KwikTrip in Monroe or the alleged account holder. A preliminary hearing is set for Feb. 5. If convicted, Alexander faces penalties of up to $20,000 or 12 years in prison or both.
Stacey Daniel Eric Sager, 20, Lena, made his initial appearance Monday, Jan. 13, in Green County Circuit court on three counts of retail theft of between $500 and $5,000, a class I Felony. Sager appeared before Judge James Beer via closed circuit camera from the Green County jail. He was released on a $6,000 signature bond, upon the condition he have no contact with Monroe Walmart store. A Class I felony carries penalties of up to $10,000 or 3.5 years in prison or both for each count. A preliminary hearing was set for Feb. 6.
Alexander James Santoro, 18, Monroe, stood mute Monday, Jan. 13, in Green County Circuit Court, on charges of hit and run involving an injury, an undesignated felony. He was released on a $2,000 signature bond. If convicted, Santoro faces penalties of up to $10,000 or 9 months in prison or both. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 5. Santoro is also facing two related charges of inattentive driving and underage drinking, both unclassified forfeitures.
Kari Jean Zimmerman, 31, Beloit, stood mute Monday, Jan. 13 in Green County Circuit Court on charges of retail theft of a value between $500 and $5,000. She was released on a $1,500 signature bond and is to have no contact with the Monroe Walmart store. A preliminary hearing is set for Feb. 6. If convicted of the Class I felony, Zimmerman faces penalties of up to $10,000 or 3.4 years in prison or both.
