FELONIES

Jacob Steven Hoff, 21, Brodhead, pleaded no contest on Thursday, Feb. 2, to misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and battery stemming from a Sept. 18 incident in the 400 block of 1st Center Avenue in Brodhead. The criminal complaint indicates he punched and got violent with two male victims. Hoff pleaded not guilty to a Class I felony charge of substantial battery, and the charge was subsequently dismissed. He received a one-year deferred prosecution and was ordered to continue counseling, abide by any temporary restraining orders, attend monitoring conferences and pay the court a $326 fee.

MISDEMEANORS

Roger M. Blum, 42, Monroe, pleaded guilty on Thursday, Feb. 2, to a Class B misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct stemming from an Aug. 30 incident in the 500 block of West 21st Street. The criminal complaint indicates he was loud and abusive and punched a male victim. A misdemeanor battery charge was dismissed. Blum was sentenced to an 18-month deferred prosecution and ordered to undergo mental health counseling, attend monitoring conferences and a victim impact panel and pay the court a $163 fee.

n Richard Alan Paulson, 51, Monroe, pleaded no contest on Friday, Feb. 3, to a Class A misdemeanor charge of battery stemming from an Oct. 2 incident and no contest to a Class B misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct stemming from an Aug. 22 incident. Charges of disorderly conduct, battery and bail jumping were dismissed. Paulson was sentenced to 18 months of probation and ordered to undergo alcohol and drug treatment, go to domestic violence counseling and not possess or consume alcohol. He was also charged a $176 court fee.

n Kyle Lee McNett, 25, Monroe, pleaded no contest on Friday, Feb. 3, to a Class A misdemeanor charge of criminal trespass to a dwelling in the 1300 block of 23rd Avenue, stemming from a Sept. 9 incident. He was sentenced to one year of probation and ordered to have no contact with the residence or residents and to undergo alcohol and drug counseling and pay a $176 court fee.
