Felonies

The court Jan. 28 issued a bench warrant for Phillip A. Murphy Jr., 45, Camp Douglas, Wis., for failure to appear at a plea hearing Jan. 21. He is charged with four counts of failure to support a child, a class I felony and faces up to 14 years in prison and $40,000 in fines, if convicted. He was free on a $10,000 signature bond Nov. 15, 2010. In an other case, the court issued a bench warrant for Murphy for failure to appear at a plea hearing Jan. 21. He is charged with bail jumping, class H felony, for failure to appear in court May 3, 2010. He faces up to 6 years in prison and $10,000 in fines if convicted.

He was free on a $10,000 signature bond Nov. 15, 2010.

- The court Jan. 21 sentenced Greg Allen O'Bel, 38, Albany, to 180 days in jail, after he pleaded no contest to a charge of driving while intoxicated, fourth offense, with a minor child in the vehicle, an unclassified felony. The court also order O'Bel to pay $1,790 in fines and court costs; revoked his driving license for 24 months, and ordered an ignition interlock for 36 months.

Court records indicate O'Bel, on or about July 26, 2010, in the Town of Jordan, drove a vehicle while intoxicated with a minor child in it.

He faced up to two years in prison and $4,000 in fines.

Misdemeanors

The court Jan. 21 ordered Samuel L. Jackson, 53, Monroe, to pay $360 in fines and court costs, after he pleaded no contest to reduced drug charges.

Court records indicate Jackson, on or about March 23, 2010, in the City of Monroe, had 8 tablets of an illegally-obtained prescription drug Xanax containing Alprazolam.

He was charged with possession of illegally-obtained prescription drugs, an unclassified misdemeanor. He faced up to 6 months in jail and $500 in fines. The court dismissed, on the prosecutor's motion, two other counts of possession of illegally-obtained prescription drugs.

- The court Jan. 21 entered into a six-month deferred prosecution agreement with Lonnie V. Kelley, 39, New Glarus, who pleaded no contest to charges of battery.

The court ordered Kelley to abide by other legal actions regarding the victim, continue AODA counseling, and pay $263 in fines and court costs.

Court records indicate Kelley, on or about Sept. 6 in the Village of New Glarus, struck and slapped a person in her head and face causing a ruptured eardrum, bruises and contusions.

He is charged with battery with domestic abuse penalties, a class A misdemeanor, and faces up to nine months in jail and $10,000 in fines, if sentenced.

The court dismissed, on the prosecutor's motion, one count of disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor, and one count of criminal damage to property, a class A misdemeanor.
