Misdemeanors

- Kevin R. Hoffman, 21, Shullsburg, pleaded no contest Wednesday, Dec. 19, to a Class A misdemeanor charge of intentionally abandoning an animal in August and was fined $631, to be paid in monthly installments of $100. An additional charge of resisting or obstructing an officer was dismissed. Court records indicate Hoffman abandoned a mixed-breed boxer named Max and then lied about it. The officer who found the dog running at large in Monticello noted in his report that Max "was very skinny as I could see the ribs and spine." The dog was turned over to the Green County Humane Society.

Felonies

- Two Kenosha brothers, Thomas Patrick Stevens, 21, and Robin Yount Stevens, 19, were charged Wednesday, Dec. 19, with felony counts of credit card theft, driving a stolen vehicle and burglary, and a Class A misdemeanor count of theft. Warrants are issued for their arrest. Court records indicate they were driving a 2012 Kia Sorento SUV that had been stolen from a residence in Chesterfield, Mo., and that they broke into a garage in the N6000 block of Hammer Road in the Town of Albany on Sept. 14 and stole cash and credit cards.
