Donald David Graves, 35, Dubuque, Iowa, pleaded no contest Tuesday, Dec. 18, to three of 13 misdemeanor charges against him related to a string of vehicle break-ins around Monroe last April through June. He is sentenced to 18 months of probation. Previous felony charges were downgraded to misdemeanors, and the remaining 10 counts were dismissed, as were charges of bail jumping and possessing of drug paraphernalia. Conditions of his probation include not drinking alcohol or consuming controlled substances except as prescribed by the physician presently treating him. He is ordered to continue counseling for alcohol and drug abuse and pay the court $262.
Glen Andrew Swedlund, 35, Monroe, was sentenced Wednesday, Dec. 12, to 18 months of probation for misdemeanor convictions of disorderly conduct and intimidation of a victim to dissuade reporting. Related felony charges were dismissed. Court records indicate he put a woman in a choke hold during an argument at a home in the 2000 block of 18th Avenue in Monroe on Sept. 17, threatened her and tried to prevent her from calling police. Swedlund is ordered to undergo anger management counseling, pay $486 to the court and have no contact with the victim except as approved by his probation agent.
Thomas Allen McLean, 25, Monroe, was charged Tuesday, Dec. 18, with a Class G felony count of intimidation and threatening force and Class B misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct and using a computer message to threaten injury. A warrant is issued for his arrest. The charges stem from an incident Dec. 13 in Monroe. Court records indicate McLean screamed at and threatened a woman and others in an apartment building in the 800 block of 15th Avenue, waved a knife in her face and sent text messages and left a voice mail threatening that if she reported the incident to police, "Blood will be shed."
Devin L. Robinson, 27, Milwaukee, was charged Wednesday, Dec. 19, with a Class F felony count of burglary and Class A misdemeanor counts of theft and criminal damage to property. The charges stem from an incident Oct. 30 at a residence in the N9100 block of Hillcrest Road in Bellville. Court records indicate Robinson broke into the home, damaging the door, and stole a 2012 class ring, a "300" bowling ring and a small Asus Netbook computer. Robinson faces similar charges in Dane County for a related string of burglaries.
