Green County Felonies

• Sean M. Waterman, 28, Monroe, remains free on a $1,000 signature bond after making his initial court appearance Monday on a charge of substantial battery.

Court records allege he repeatedly hit a man in the face, causing broken bones, Aug. 11 in Monroe. He was convicted in 2004 of three counts of criminal damage to property.

He is charged with substantial battery, a class I felony. He faces more than five years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines, if convicted.

His preliminary hearing is Sept. 24.

• Matthew D. Schupbach, 24, Brodhead, remains free on a $1,000 signature bond after making his initial court appearance Monday for a substantial battery charge.

Court records allege he repeatedly hit a man in the face, causing broken bones, Aug. 11 in Monroe. He was convicted of battery in 2005.

He is charged with substantial battery, a class I felony. He faces more than five years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines, if convicted.

His preliminary hearing is Sept. 24.

• Kayla A. Wirts, 25, Albany, remains free on an $1,800 signature bond and a $200 cash bond after making her initial appearance Monday for forgery and theft charges.

Court records allege she wrote five checks from another person's account between Aug. 9 and Aug. 13 in Monticello and Albany.

She is charged with forgery, a class H felony, and theft, a class A misdemeanor. She faces more than six years in prison and up to $20,000 in fines, if convicted.

Her preliminary hearing is Sept. 4.

Misdemeanors

• The court Tuesday scheduled an Oct. 28 sentencing hearing for Travis C. Case, 27, Beloit, who pleaded no contest to trespassing.

Court records indicate he entered a residence without permission June 20, 2004, in Decatur township.

He is charged with trespassing, a class A misdemeanor. He faces up to nine months in jail and up to $10,000 in fines, if convicted.

He remains free on a $1,000 signature bond.
