FELONIES

• Ricky T. Olson, 19, New Glarus, was charged Monday with bail jumping for allegedly having prohibited contact with two women he knows July 24 at a residence in the 2200 block of 11th Street in Monroe. In a separate case, he reportedly signed a $4,500 signature bond and a $500 cash bond June 4, both of which order him not to contact either woman or the residence. Police responded to a report of a fight at the residence, court files show, and witnesses told officers Olson had been there earlier and made contact with the two women. A few hours later, Olson came to the Monroe Police Department to make a statement, according to police documents, and he was arrested. Court records indicate Olson signed a $2,000 signature bond in the new case Tuesday. He is ordered not to contact either woman or the residence. He has a preliminary hearing Aug. 19.

• Susan M. Broderick Buell, 27, Madison, was charged Tuesday with substantial battery and disorderly conduct for allegedly smashing a glass beer bottle over the head of a 22-year-old Oregon woman July 25 outside Monroe's Friendly Inn, 1335 17th St. According to police reports, the bottle caused a three-inch gash on the forehead of the victim, whom first responders transported to Monroe Clinic. A bouncer at the bar described the alleged suspect to officers, and told them she and a man she was with fled on foot. A few blocks away, police found a woman matching the bouncer's description, later identified as Buell, and stopped her. She admitted to being in a confrontation at the bar earlier and said she threw two beer bottles, court documents indicate. She was arrested and taken to jail. Her blood-alcohol concentration was 0.14 percent, police documents show. Court records indicate she signed a $4,000 signature bond Wednesday that orders her not to drink, go into bars or liquor stores or contact the victim. She has a preliminary hearing Sept. 25.



MISDEMEANORS

• Kory L. Lukancic, 38, Wisconsin Dells, faces a fine after he pleaded no contest to hit and run Wednesday. The conviction stems from a Dec. 7 incident in which Lukancic drove off after rear-ending a van, injuring three of its passengers, in the N4700 block of Wis. 69 in the Town of Monroe. One of the van's passengers told investigators that the bumper of the car that hit the van fell off in the collision, and the driver got out, picked up the bumper and put it in his car. Police located Lukancic's car Dec. 21 and stopped it. They noted in their report that the bumper was attached to the car by duct tape. According to court records, officers showed one of the victims a picture of Lukancic posted on his public Facebook profile and the victim said, "That's the guy right there." Police records indicate Lukancic owes the court $631.



LAFAYETTE COUNTY

FELONIES

• Patrick J. Allen, 22, Argyle, was charged with burglary July 16 for allegedly breaking into a residence in the 4500 block of Wisconsin 81 in the Town of Argyle July 11. According to a news release issued by the Lafayette County Sheriff's Department, police observed a suspicious vehicle parked near the residence. Less than 10 minutes later, a man who lives at the residence reportedly returned home and interrupted a burglary in progress. He called 911 and told dispatchers the suspect(s) had fled on foot. Officers requested a K-9 unit, court files show, and tracked Allen's scent from the residence to the rural area around the home, where they found him hiding in a cornfield. He was arrested and jailed. Police records indicate Allen made his initial appearance July 16, after which the court set a $2,500 cash bond that orders him not to drink, consume nonprescription controlled substances or have contact with the victims or their residence. Allen had not signed the bond as of Friday, court documents show. He has a pre-trial conference Sept. 15.



MISDEMEANORS

• Neil P. Husom, 24, Monroe, was charged July 23 with two counts of issuing a worthless check for allegedly writing two fraudulent checks to an Argyle Cenex, 108 W. Milwaukee St., May 5 and 6 for the respective amounts of $51.19 and $183.46. According to police reports, when an employee from the gas station presented the checks to a bank, the bank said the account was closed. Husom reportedly received a notification letter saying he had five days to pay the amounts plus a fine and failed to do so. He has an initial appearance Aug. 31.

• Andrew J. Turpin, 19, Darlington, was charged July 23 with issuing a worthless check for allegedly writing a fraudulent check May 29 for $104 to the Lafayette County Sheriff's Office for a vehicle registration. Court records indicate Turpin was given a chance to pay the amount plus a fine but failed to do so. He has an initial appearance Aug. 31.
