Derrick A. Schwartzlow, 32, Albany, was granted a deferred prosecution April 10 on a Class H felony charge of strangulation and suffocation and a Class B misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct, stemming from an incident June 2 at a residence in the 300 block of North Mechanic Street in Albany. Court records allege he physically abused and choked a woman and that this isn't the first time she has suffered physical abuse from him. Conditions of his 18-month deferred prosecution agreement include paying the court $343, attending quarterly monitoring conferences and completing domestic violence or anger management counseling.
Steven A. Steiner, 20, jailed in Monroe, was sentenced April 10 to six months in jail, minus 131 days sentence credit, for revoking his probation on convictions of receiving stolen property, obstructing an officer, possessing a firearm as an adjudged delinquent and possessing a dangerous weapon while under the age of 18. Court records indicate that while on probation he sent numerous threatening texts to a woman and told his mental health counselor he has "figured out how to commit the perfect murder." Steiner is convicted of stealing a flatbed trailer worth about $1,500 from a residence in Cadiz Township and then lying to an officer about it, and of possessing seven stolen firearms at a residence in Browntown and then lying to a deputy investigating the case.
David Charles Kraft, 36, Brodhead, pleaded no contest April 12 to charges of disorderly conduct and battery and was sentenced to 30 days in jail and ordered to pay $686. A felony charge of false imprisonment was dismissed. Court records indicate he punched and threw a boot at a woman during an argument Nov. 25 at a home in the 1000 block of 19th Street in Brodhead and then blocked her from leaving the bedroom.
Traci J. Luebke, 47, Monroe, was sentenced April 12 to three years of probation on misdemeanor and felony convictions of possessing and delivering marijuana and of delivering a prescription drug. Conditions of her probation include undergoing alcohol and drug counseling and paying the court $704. Court records indicate Luebke sold drugs in Monroe on three occasions in early 2012 to a confidential source, two times in the parking lot of Shopko, 405 W. 8th St., and once in the parking lot of Walgreens, 171 8th Ave. The largest reported transaction occurred March 1, 2012, when Luebke sold 30 grams of marijuana and four 40-milligram tablets of Oxycontin for $405.
Byron D. Tillman, 26, Rockford, was charged April 16 with a Class F felony count of possessing 4.9 grams of crack cocaine with intent to deliver on Feb. 10 at an apartment in the 300 block of 2nd Street in Monroe. A warrant is filed for his arrest. Drug agents allegedly found the drug on Tillman after following up on a tip from a tenant, relayed to the apartment building's landlord, that he was dealing crack in the parking lot.

Cody Allen Kirschbaum, 24, Evansville, pleaded no contest April 12 to a misdemeanor charge of possessing five pills of the sedative Clonazepam and was sentenced to two days in jail (minus two days sentence credit) and ordered to pay the court $243. The charge stems from a traffic stop Aug. 8 in Albany.
Carlos Aguilar, 17, Juda, was charged April 12 with a Class A misdemeanor charge of battery, stemming from an incident March 3 at his home in the N1000 block of Union Grove Road in Spring Grove Township. Court records indicate he punched a 15-year-old girl in the face and ear, causing bleeding and bruising. He pleaded not guilty April 15. He has a pre-trial conference set for May 28.

William V. Stephenson, 36, Davenport, Iowa, pleaded guilty April 17 to two Class I felony counts of failure to pay child support for periods of more than four months in 2010. Three similar counts from 2010 and 2011 were dismissed but "read in," meaning the judge considered them in his sentencing. Stephenson is sentenced to three years of probation, with the conditions that he make child support payments and undergo an assessment for alcohol and other drug abuse. He is also ordered not to drink or go into taverns or liquor stores and not consume any nonprescription controlled substances or prescription drugs for which he doesn't have a prescription.

Douglas William Champion, 19, Darlington, was charged April 10 with seven Class A misdemeanor counts of receiving/concealing stolen property. Court records indicate he possessed stolen property at his former residence on Iowa Street in Shullsburg Oct. 24, including a Sony PlayStation, several PlayStation3 games, controllers and a blue luggage bag. He signed a $2,500 signature bond with the conditions that he have no contact with three juveniles and a fourth person. The case is set for arraignment May 6.
Tracey Mildred Zsido, 41, Belmont, was charged April 15 with two counts of resisting/obstructing an officer, one count of bail jumping and four counts of violating a restraining order. The charges stem from incidents earlier this month in Blanchardville, at the Lafayette County Jail in Darlington and at residences on North Broad Street in Argyle and Apple Grove Church Road in rural Argyle. Cash bond is set at $700, with the conditions that Zsido not drink or go into taverns or liquor stores and not consume any nonprescription controlled substances or prescription drugs for which she doesn't have a prescription. If placed in a treatment facility, the bond order stipulates she shall not leave the facility without the approval of her case worker. Her adjourned initial appearance is April 22.
