Marcus J. Phiffer, 18, Brodhead, was found guilty due to a guilty plea of substantial battery, a Class I Felony, on Wednesday, April 16. He also had charges of disorderly conduct, bail jumping and second-degree reckless endangerment dismissed. Phiffer is ordered to complete 150 hours of community service during his first 18 months of his 36 months of probation. He is also to undergo alcohol and other drugs assessment classes. Court records indicate Phiffer attacked a man, kicking and hitting him in the head while wearing brass knuckles. The man sustained a concussion, broken teeth, and gashes that had to be stapled shut. Phiffer owes the court $76.

Court records indicate Phiffer was drinking at a house party in January 2013 in the Town of Sylvester when a fight broke out and Phiffer knocked out a highly intoxicated male. Later as the victim was passed out on a couch, Phiffer punched him in the face about seven times and took his shoes. The victim had a fractured cheek bone and a fat lip. Phiffer owes the court $176.

Justin J.Norder, 34, Monroe, was found guilty due to a no-contest plea of driving while intoxicated, fourth offense. He also had a charge of driving with a prohibited alcohol concentration dismissed. Norder will serve 60 days in jail with work release privileges, have his license revoked for two years and an ignition interlock system installed for one year after being relicensed. Court records indicate Norder was stopped for speeding on Jan. 12, 2013. After failing a field sobriety test, he registered a PAC of .16 percent. Norder owes the court $1,624.
Tomas D. Viveros-Colorado, 22, Monroe, could have charges of disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property dismissed if he complies with the terms of a deferred prosecution agreement following his two-year probation. Court records indicate Viveros-Colorado kicked in doors to two apartments on Sept. 17 in the 300 block of 4th Street, Monroe. After being cited by police he attempted to give the officer a false name. Viveros-Colorado owes the court $686.

Yair Salazar-Mendoza, 24, Shullsburg, entered a not-guilty plea on Thursday, April 16, to charges of misdemeanor criminal damage to property and substantial battery, a Class I Felony. Court records indicate Salazar-Mendoza was arrested on March 17 for felony battery after an altercation on Ohio Street, Darlington. He was also cited at the time for hit-and-run of an occupied vehicle.

Scot R. Tollakson, 42, South Wayne, entered a not-guilty plea on Wednesday, April 16, to charges of DWI and driving with a PAC, both third offenses. Tollakson was arrested on Jan. 18 following a traffic stop on County M, Wiota Township. He has a status conference set for June 18.
Romeo DeJesus Villatoro-Martinez, 28, Darlington, had a signature bond set at $1,000 on Thursday, April 17, with additional conditions that he not drive a vehicle without a valid license, submit to a blood and breath test for alcohol and that he not possess or consume alcohol or drugs. Villatoro-Martinez was charged with DWI and driving with a PAC, both second offenses, on Feb. 23. Court records indicate Villatoro-Martinez crashed a vehicle on Ohio Street and caused property damage.
