EVANSVILLE/ALBANY - Charlotte May King age 90 died Saturday November 14, 2015 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. She was born on June 11, 1925 in Rockford Illinois the daughter of Roy and Ruth (Culver) King. She worked for the Albany School District for twenty five years as a bookkeeper. After retiring, she lent a helping hand when needed. She helped her nephew Kendall at Pleasant Prairie Greenhouse with transplanting baby plants, watering plants and helping customers. Every year, with the help of her great nieces, she made several hundred cookies for the customers to enjoy. She was a very independent person and enjoyed helping others. She was an avid bowler, and enjoyed baking, needle point, quilting, painting ceramics, and other crafts as well as gardening. Charlotte loved her great nieces and nephews and enjoyed watching them at school events and participating in sporting events. They were like grandchildren to her and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her brother in-law Bryant (Pat) Wethal of Evansville, two nephews; Kendall (Karla) Wethal of Evansville, Douglas Gerber of Arizona, two nieces; Faith (Greg) Miller of Virginia, Wendy (Pat) Newton of Ohio, great nieces and nephews; Kate, Karen, Jessica, Joe, Becky, Jonathon and Melissa, aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Eloise Wethal, Nancy Gerber, a brother Ernest King. A visitation will be held from 3:30 pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday November 18, 2015 at Ward-Hurtley Funeral Home Evansville. A family burial will take place in Shirland Illinois at a later date.
