Carol G. Connors, age 88 of Monroe, died on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Harbor House in Monroe. She was born on October 21, 1923 in Monroe the daughter of Ralph and Gertrude (Wartenweiler) Lindsay. She was a graduate of Monroe High School and of Madison Business College. Carol and Patrick J. Connors Jr. were married on February 18, 1947 in Monroe. She worked for the Chocolate Shop, Benkerts Clothing Store and with her husband at Connors Plumbing & Heating. Carol was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Monroe Women's Club, Monroe Country Club, Green County Historical Society, M.A.A.C., and a former Girl and Cub Scout leader. She enjoyed going antiquing, listening to big band music, playing cards with her bridge group, spending time in her greenhouse with her flowers, and being out of doors watching birds, especially enjoying the butterflies. Carol loved to travel and have fun, but she especially loved to spend time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Michael (Shirley) Connors of Orfordville, James (Ranele) Connors of Monroe, Marcia Hamel of Edgerton; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother, Retired Major General Nathan J. Lindsay; sister, Phoebe Sorenson; also nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents; husband, Patrick and son-in-law, Maury Hamel.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. John Tabaka officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at the Church. A memorial fund is being established in Carol's memory. The Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home is assisting the family.
