APPLE RIVER - Beverly T. Williams, age 81, passed away peacefully at his daughter's home on Sunday, December 20, 2009 in Darlington, WI, surrounded by his family. He was born on May 9, 1928 to Edmund and Alma (Leitzinger) Williams in Apple River, IL. He married Agnes Upmann on October 15, 1961 in Galena, IL. Beverly was a retired member of the Apple River Volunteer Fire Department. He had many jobs during his life including working as a farm hand for area farmers, mechanic, truck driver, tree trimmer and bartender. Various employers through the years included Flynn Ready Mix, Wes Winters and Davis Lumber Company. He enjoyed playing for and coaching the American Legion softball team, morel mushroom hunting, playing cards, bowling, country music, and most of all spending warm afternoons on his porch enjoying conversation with family and friends. He enjoyed helping people and caring for animals. First and foremost though he enjoyed spending time with his loving family.

Beverly is survived by five children: Mary (Dennis) Foley of Apple River, IL, Julia (Jeff) Tuescher of Browntown, WI, Denise (Steven) Mosley of Darlington, WI, Mike (Teri) Williams of Warren, IL and Thomas (Tracy) Williams of Apple River, IL; 9 grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Jesse.

Preceded in death by his loving and caring wife Agnes on April 22, 2009; their parents; two sisters, Juanita and Verneal; and three brothers, Burnett "Slick," Burnell and Vernon "Tom."

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at the Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home in Warren, IL.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. till 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at the Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home in Warren, IL.

Officiating will be Father Max Striedl.

Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Apple River, IL.

A memorial has been established in his name.
