BRODHEAD - Bernard Benjamin Clark, age 89, of Brodhead, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2008 at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Monroe. He was born on April 26, 1918 in Green County, the son of Benjamin and Edith (Riemer) Clark. He married Ella Buehler on August 7, 1942 in Brodhead. She passed away on July 3, 2004.
Bernard and Ella first met while in elementary school. They later met again as adults and were married. They were married for 62 years. For many years they farmed in Spring Grove Township and then moved to Brodhead. Bernard worked for the City of Brodhead for over 22 years. Bernard and Ella earned a lifelong membership in the Yesteryear Auto Club.
Bernard is survived by his three sons; Paul (Jean) Clark, Tom (Linda) Clark, both of Brodhead, and Marvin (Tamara) Clark, Rockton Township, IL. He was also proud of his nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD. A family committal at Greenwood Cemetery, Brodhead, will be held at a later date.
Bernard's family would like to thank Pleasant View for their caring attention during his last months. Bernard will be greatly missed by his family, but his constant wish to be with Ella again has been fulfilled.
