Monticello - Barbara J. Unke, age 67, of Monticello passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 14, 2016 at her home. She was born on April 11, 1949 to her parents Orville Anderson and Velma (Elmer) Anderson-Schuett. Barb graduated from Monticello High School in 1967. Barb married Tom Kubly on September 3, 1967. She was a farm wife and mother and worked raising her children and operating the farm. Barb also worked at the Blanchardville Oil Co-Op for ten years, and most recently as a seamstress. Later in life she met her soulmate Richard Unke and they were married on December 17, 1999. Barb was always active in her community, and had served as president of the American Legion Auxiliary. Barb was a loving and caring mother, grandma, sister, and friend to all. She cherished most her time with family and kitties. She will be remembered for her smile and the twinkle in her eyes.

Barb is survived by her children Scott (Nancy Amherdt) Kubly, Brenda (James) Lawson, Deb (Joe) Elmer, and Jeff (Josie Cobb) Kubly, grandchildren Jordyn and Alyssah Kubly, Bryce Lawson, Trae Seffrood, Chloe Elmer, Tatum Allbaugh, Kaelynn Kubly, and Kole Patrick. She is further survived by her sisters Lonna (Dennis) Field and Marayne "Toots" Teal, brothers Charles Anderson, Richard Anderson, and Chip (Catherine) Schuett.

She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Elmer Schuett, husband Richard Unke, and brother Larry Anderson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the Zwingli United Church of Christ, 416 E. Lake Ave., Monticello, WI with Pastor Lance Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery, Monticello, WI.

Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at the Zwingli United Church of Christ, 416 E. Lake Ave, Monticello, WI.

The Zentner-Beal Funeral Home of New Glarus is serving the family.
