APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz./MONROE - Arthur E. (Skip) Colvin, age 80, of Apache Junction Arizona, formerly of Monroe, passed away July 22, 2013. Art was born April 21, 1933 in Madison, WI and grew up on the farm of his foster parents, Clarence and Grace Slotten of New Glarus. He was united in marriage in April, 1952 to Shirley Streiff. They farmed east of New Glarus until 1958 when he accepted a position with the Monroe Police Department, retiring after 21 years at the rank sergeant. He later married Christine Trasher and lived in the Clarno area prior to moving to Apache Junction. Art also worked for the R. Mueller Cheese Factory Equipment, the Chalet Cheese factory, and drove school bus for many years. He is survived by his wife, Christine, Apache Junction; three children, Jeffery (Dawn) Colvin, Wausau, Michael Colvin, Monroe, and Julie (John) Sheppard, Cottage Grove; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in Apache Junction, Arizona.
