Antone W. Portman, age 76, of Monticello, died on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. He was born on August 10, 1938 in Monroe, the son of Werner and Hilda (Weafler) Portman.
Antone and Marion Shirley were married on February 2, 1966 in Monroe.
He worked for Monroe Ready Mix and Monroe Construction for 35 years, retiring in 2001.
Antone was a member of the Monroe Loyal Order of Moose #751, Monticello Fire Department, from 1974 - 1990, and enjoyed cutting wood.
He is survived by his wife, Marion of Monticello; sons, Duane Portman of Monticello; Antone (Christine) Portman of Monroe; daughters, Evelyn (Steve) Stensel of Evansville; Hilda (Kendall) Baumgartner of Monticello; sister, Evelyn Portman of Whitewater; and 9 grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his Parents, and a sister, Arlene Lambardo.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, 1455 Mansion Dr., and N. 18th Ave., with Pastor David Busker officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday, April 13th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home and from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday, April 14th at the Funeral Home.
