Anne Dickson formerly of Monticello, entered her eternal home on Sunday, January 4, 2015. Anne was born on June 17, 1916 in Meiringen, Switzerland, the daughter of Andreas and Margaretha (Kohler) Schild. She immigrated with her parents and seven siblings to America on May 7, 1922. The family settled in Browntown, WI where Anne attended Watson School.
Anne married Roy Dickson on May 15, 1936 and they were married for 65 years, residing the majority of their lives in Monticello. They had seven children. Anne loved gardening, especially with flowers. If not in her garden, she would be in the kitchen where she was an excellent cook and baker. Her gingersnaps will always be a very special memory for her three generations of family. Anne was a devoted servant of Jesus and an active member of Zwingli United Church of Christ in Monticello where she was a member of the Womens's Guild and was very involved in the Caring Network and prayer chain. Anne was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary to Amstutz Marty Post #256 for 52 years and enjoyed delivering meals on wheels.
Anne is survived by her six children who were loved unconditionally and always felt it, including William (Kay) Dickson of Monticello, RoyAnn (Ron) Aunchman of Yuma, AZ, Thomas (Judy) Dickson of Frisco, TX, Susan (David) Mowery of Freeport, IL, Marianne (Phil Enscoe) Dickson of Green Bay, and Kenneth (Marianne Nover) Dickson of Madison; ten loving grandchildren, Christine (Robert) Meier, Kimberly (Brian) Vogt, Monica (Ben) Coombes, David (Jami) Dickson, Rachel Schild, Dominic Jaehnke, Colin Jaehnke, Katrina Dickson, Anna Dickson, and Roy Dickson; eight great-grandchildren, Daniel, Brenna, and Nathan Meier, Emily and Allison Vogt, Devon Coombes, Lily and Sage Dickson. Anne wrote a note to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren that said "you were all the loves of my life." She is further survived by her sister, Emma Shaw who Anne recently visited in Boise, ID; and many wonderful nieces, nephews, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Roy; an infant son, Edward; three sisters and three brothers.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015, at 6:00 p.m., at Zwingli United Church of Christ, 416 E. Lake Avenue, Monticello, with Reverends Jeannie Douglas and Mary Gafner officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Coffee and cookies will be served immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested in Anne's name to Zwingli United Church of Christ. The Voegeli-Newcomer Funeral Home, Monticello, is assisting the family.
