Alma Ann Flanagan

Alma Ann Flanagan, age 90, of Monroe, died Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. Alma was born June 26, 1920 in rural Green County, the daughter of Harry A. and Hulda (Regez) Keegan. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1937 and attended U.W. Whitewater. Alma married James H. Flanagan on January 28, 1940. They farmed in Adams Township and later moved to Monroe Township. Following her husband's death, Alma moved into Monroe.

She was a member of St. Victor Catholic Church, was an avid reader, enjoyed playing cards, and was devoted to her faith and her family.

She is survived by four children, Judy (Ron) Perkins of Janesville, Bea (Paul) Epping of Ventura, CA, Roger (Maria) Flanagan of Pensacola, FL, and Shirley (Joe) Drye of rural Browntown; 18 grandchildren; 28 greatgrandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Helen Flanagan of Mineral Point.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Jim and Pat Flanagan; an infant daughter, Kathleen; two sisters, Lizetta Goodman and Mary Lou Pick; and three brothers, Tom, Leo, and Harry Keegan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Victor Catholic Church, Monroe.

Father David Flanagan and Father Michael Klarer will concelebrate with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery, Monroe.

Visitation will be at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A memorial fund will be established in Alma's name. condolences may be sent to the family at www.newcomerfuneralhome.net.
