BELLEVILLE, WI/ MONTICELLO, WI - Alice Hilda Albertson, 88, a longtime Monticello resident returned to her Lord on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at the home of her niece Diane (Daniel) McPhail in Belleville. She was born on June 21, 1923 in the Town of Mount Pleasant, Green County, Wisconsin the youngest daughter of Albert Frederick William and Hedwig Frances Anna (Ruenger) Schulz. Alice graduated from the Silver Country School and worked on the family farm. On January 16, 1941 she was united in marriage to Harold Andrew Albertson of rural Attica and moved onto the Albertson home farm, working alongside her husband and helping to care for his parents Fred and Rosie. In 1973 the couple built a home in Monticello, and moved there after selling the farm. She was a lifelong member of the Zwingli United Church of Christ in Monticello and the Ladies' Aid. Alice was also a member of the Attica Homemakers, drove for R.S.V.P, and crocheted lap robes for nursing home residents. She traveled to Europe many times, loved a good old fashioned polka, and enjoyed dancing at Turner Hall.
Alice is survived by fourteen nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold in 1979, parents, sisters Louise, Ella, Frieda, and Florence, and a brother Herman.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the Zwingli United Church of Christ, 416 East Lake Ave., Monticello, WI with the Rev. Lawrence Balleine officiating with burial in the Norwegian Settlement Cemetery, rural Albany.
Relatives and friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until time of services on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the Zwingli United Church of Christ in Monticello.
