Agnes P. Vincent Erb age 92 of Monroe, died Sunday, December 29, 2013 at her home. Agnes was born January 16, 1921 in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Oscar and Hilda (Mohr) Becker. She graduated from 8th grade at St. Victor School in 1934 and Monroe High School in 1938. Agnes married Larry W. Vincent on April 12, 1947 in Monroe. He preceded her in death on October 6, 1967. She married Merlyn A. Erb on April 4, 1970 and he died on April 19, 1996. Agnes worked in the office at the Blumer and later Huber Brewing Company, as an operator at United Telephone Company, and as a bookkeeper at Lanz Hardware and Lanz Sheet Metal and Heating before retiring. She was a longtime member of St. Victor Catholic Church. Throughout the years Agnes enjoyed playing tennis, riding bike, bowling, camping, attending class reunions, and playing cards (especially Yass). She also enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers.
Agnes is survived by two sons, Jim Vincent of Monroe and Tom (Eva) Vincent of Green Bay; two daughters, Michelle (Don) Cummings of Grand Ledge, MI, and Christine Vincent of Monroe; two step-sons, Jim Erb of Monroe, and Tom (Lynne) Erb of Monticello; a step-daughter, Linda (Junior) Robertson of Monroe; 11 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 5 step-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Marion (Duane) Vincent Strong of CA; sister-in-law, Eleanor Becker of IL; and a brother-in-law, Joe Ganshert of Monroe. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; two sons, Patrick Vincent in 1980, and Steve Vincent in 2011; a brother, George Becker; two sisters, Regina (Carl) Timms, and Maria (Robert) Callahan; three brothers in infancy; and a sister-in-law, Louise Ganshert.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2014, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victor Catholic Church with Father Michael Klarer officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Monroe. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
