Adair Frances Price Najat, age 76, of Monroe, died on August 16, 2017 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. She was born on December 23, 1940 in St. Louis, MO; the daughter of Arthur and Lucile (McAllister) Price Sr.
Adair was a graduate of Herbert Hoover High School, Glendale, CA; after her last child graduated from high school she attended MATC and received an Associate of Science degree in Restaurant and Hotel Cookery.
Adair and Hushang "Henry" Najat were united in marriage on May 8, 1962 by the Justice of the Peace in Chicago, IL.
She was a devoted wife and mother, and was employed with Kemper Insurance Company in Chicago, IL and the University of Illinois at Navy Pier Admissions Office.
She was a member of the Monroe Women's Club, where she served as president. She also volunteered extensively at the Monroe Hospital Auxiliary; where she put in thousands of hours.
She volunteered at Monroe Arts Center initially doing office work and then catered numerous receptions. Her delicious food and presentation was enjoyed by many. She enjoyed singing and was a member of the Bel Canto Singers.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Hushang "Henry" Najat; children: Audrey Najat, John Najat (Fiance' Jessica), Joseph (Melinda) Najat; brother, Arthur Roberts Price Jr. and her "Little Girl" Bailey.
She is preceded in death by her parents, twin sister, Clair, and sister "Skip" Lucile.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home in Monroe.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 26th from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Monroe Clinic Hospice or the Monroe Arts Center (MAC).
