MONROE - Drug agents arrested a 51-year-old Monroe man Thursday, Dec. 6, on charges of dealing cocaine.

Calvin D. Martin Sr. faces three felony counts in Green County Circuit Court of delivering the drug. He was taken into custody at 5:35 p.m. at his home in the 1300 block of 14th Street., according to Monroe police.

Martin's arrest is the result of an undercover investigation by the State Line Area Narcotics Team, a collaboration of law enforcement agencies in Wisconsin and Illinois.

He reportedly sold cocaine to a paid informant in late August, in September and most recently Nov. 29. Each time he sold between 2.2 and 3.4 grams of the drug for $200, according to an agent's report.

In two of the cases, the agent reported the cocaine was divided into multiple baggies and ready for resale.

One of Martin's suppliers is named as Kareem A. Stewart, a 31-year-old man from Rockford. During the most recent undercover investigation of Martin on Nov. 29, Stewart led officers through Monroe on a previously reported high-speed chase that ended on foot and with Stewart's arrest.

Stewart told agents he deals drugs and "helps" a few people out in the City of Monroe.

Martin's past criminal record includes a conviction of marijuana possession from 2009 that resulted in a sentence of 60 days in jail.
