Green County Sheriff

MONROE — Thomas V. Van Tussi, 59, Belleville, was arrested on a charge of misdemeanor bail jumping and jailed pending bond or court after deputies responded to a report of a court order violation at a residence in the W3800 block of Exeter Crossing Road, Town of Exeter, at 3:48 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8. The Belleville Police Department assisted with the call.

On Tuesday, Oct. 9:

●  Cody L. Faith, 19, Monroe, was arrested on charges of possessing drug paraphernalia and possessing a Schedule IV controlled substance (defined as drugs with a low potential for abuse and low risk of dependence, such as Xanax, Valium or Ambien) after deputies and the Stateline Area Narcotics Taskforce executed a search warrant at 6 a.m. in the W7800 block of Wis. 11, Town of Cadiz. Faith was taken to the Green County Jail, where he later posted bond and was released pending court.

●  Larry A. Strothman, 31, Juda, was arrested for a probation violation at 2:41 p.m. and taken to the Green County Jail, where he was booked for the charge.

●  Charles J. Benoy, 56, New Glarus, was arrested on charges of possessing THC (second offense) and possessing drug paraphernalia after deputies responded at 5:27 p.m. to complete an investigation in the N9300 block of Hustad Valley Road, Town of New Glarus. Benoy was jailed pending court.

DARLINGTON — On Sunday, Sept. 30:

●  Karina L. Nieves, 37, Rockford, Illinois, was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign at 6:13 p.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Gratiot.

●  Rian L. Borgmann, 21, Freeport, was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign and driving without a valid license at 7:59 p.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Gratiot.

●  Steven H. Cotter, 23, Darlington, was cited for speeding at 10:13 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Elk Grove.

●  A deputy responded for a welfare check at 10:57 p.m. on South Main Street in Blanchardville. The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office assisted on scene.

On Monday, Oct. 1:

●  Deputies responded to assist citizens at 12:22 a.m. to County O, Town of Shullsburg.

●  A deputy responded to assist with traffic control at 9:31 a.m. on East Main Street in Benton.

●  Brandon M. Wilson, 20, Lancaster, was transported at 4:49 p.m. from the Grant County Jail to the Lafayette County Jail for a valid warrant.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 5:10 p.m. on County G, Town of Fayette.

●  Deputies responded at 5:37 p.m. to several areas throughout Lafayette County for reports of flooding.

●  Deputies responded to unlock a vehicle at 8:30 a.m. on Dunbarton Road, Town of Gratiot.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 10:52 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Elk Grove.

Darlington Police

DARLINGTON — Brian L. Suddreth, 48, Plainfield, Illinois, was cited for speeding on Wisconsin 23 at 7:25 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6.

●  A 15-year-old Darlington resident was cited for operating an ATV without a driver’s license on a city street on Center Hill Road Sunday, Oct. 7.

●  Tyler R. Nilles, 19, Pearl City, Illinois, was arrested on charges of violating the absolute sobriety law following a traffic stop on Wis. 23 at 11:04 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7. He was also cited for driving with a suspended license, underage drinking (second offense) and transporting intoxicants in a motor vehicle as an underage person.

●  Dawnia D. Greene, 18, Ridgeway, was cited for transporting intoxicants in a motor vehicle as an underage person following a traffic stop on Main Street at 11:54 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8.

●  Roman Baltazar, 52, Darlington, was cited for driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop on County K at 1:06 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9.

●  Carlo J.W. Kelley, 18, Shullsburg, was cited for driving without a valid license following a traffic stop on Wis. 81 at about 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9.


New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS — On Monday, Oct. 1:

●  A driver’s license lost during the Oktoberfest weekend in the 500 block 1st Street was reported at 9:52 a.m.

●  A misplaced bag with merchandise in it that was purchased during the Oktoberfest weekend in the 500 block 1st Street was reported at 12:36 p.m.

●  The theft of a package from the 300 block of Elmer Road was reported at 3:06 p.m.

On Tuesday, Oct. 2:

●  Police assisted a citizen who locked their keys in their vehicle at 8:13 a.m. in the 400 block 2nd Street. The vehicle was unlocked.

●  A parking violation was reported at 12:21 p.m. in the 700 block of Railroad Street. Upon investigation it was clear the vehicle had broken down and the family was attempting to remove it as soon as possible.

●  Tyler J. Wenger, 29, Monroe, was cited for operating a motor vehicle without insurance after a traffic stop for a registration violation at 3:39 p.m. on Wis. 69 at 6th Avenue.

●  Lawrence W. Watson, 36, Madison, was cited for a seatbelt violation at 4:09 p.m. in the 1500 block of 2nd Street.

●  Police were requested to make contact with a village resident at 7:04 p.m. regarding an ongoing case being handled by the Green County Sheriff’s Office.

On Wednesday, Oct. 3:

●  A suspicious person was reported at 8:42 a.m. in the 1700 block of 2nd Street.

●  Philip R. Cruse, 32, Belleville, was cited for a seatbelt violation at 3:37 p.m. on Kubly Road at 6th Avenue.

●  Police were dispatched at 4:34 p.m. to the 700 block of 2nd Avenue for a medical alert alarm. Contact was made and everything was fine. It was a false alarm.

●  Michele R. Crawford, 45, Belleville, was cited for non-registration of a motor vehicle at 8:03 p.m. on Wis. 69 at 14th Avenue.

On Thursday, Oct. 4:

●  Kendra L. Klassy, 20, New Glarus, was cited for a seatbelt violation at 5:17 p.m. on 4th Avenue at 3rd Street.

●  A fight between juveniles at the Village Park basketball court was reported at 6:30 p.m. Police identified no fight but warned the group of juveniles about their behavior in the park.

On Friday, Oct. 5:

●  Police assisted the Green County Sheriff’s Office with a medical call at 8:23 a.m. on Marty Road.

●  An altercation was reported at 9:04 a.m. in the 1800 block of 2nd Street.

●  An assault between two juveniles was reported at 3:07 p.m. in the 1600 block of 2nd Street.

●  Police and the New Glarus Fire Department responded at 11:14 p.m. to a report of a gas odor in a building in the 100 block of 6th Avenue. The fire department deemed the scene was safe.

●  A hit-and-run crash in the 100 block of 4th Avenue was reported at 11:45 p.m. Anyone with information on the accident is asked to call the police department.

On Saturday, Oct. 6:

●  A suspicious, occupied vehicle was reported at 7:59 a.m. in the 1400 block of Wis. 69. Police made contact with the occupant. He was sleeping.

●  A warning notice was issued at 2:23 p.m. on a vehicle parked illegally in the 300 block of 2nd Street.

●  Police responded at 2:52 p.m. to an active residential burglar alarm. It was a false alarm, set off on accident.

●  Police removed a large bag of material from the roadway on Wis. 69 at County W at 3:17 p.m.

●  A suicidal person was reported at 9:50 p.m. in the 800 block of Wis. 69. Police made contact with the person and contacted a crisis worker, who determined the person was not suicidal. No further action was taken.

On Sunday, Oct. 7:

●  A bicycle accident was reported at 8:34 a.m. in the 100 block of 7th Avenue. The juvenile rider was navigating around a parked motor vehicle when the bicycle hit the curb and the juvenile was ejected. An ambulance transported the juvenile for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

●  Police were dispatched at 8:57 a.m. to the 1500 block of Wis. 69 for an OnStar emergency activation. Police made contact with the subject and everything was fine. It was an accidental push of the button.

●  Police assisted the Green County Sheriff’s Office at 2 p.m. with a welfare check on Old Madison Road.

●  A hit and run on a light post in the parking lot of a business in the 1400 block of Wis. 69 was reported at 7:40 p.m. When eventually contacted by police, the driver explained he was southbound in the parking lot and did not see the post and after no one came out of the business, he left.
