Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — For the week of May 3-9, police performed 17 security checks, 26 citizen assists, nine assists of other agencies, 11 follow-ups to incidents, 15 vehicle registrations and six traffic stops; responded to 40 calls for service and reported six EMS calls, three fire calls and 21 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls. No mental health or detox transports were reported.

On May 3:

●  A computer scam was reported at 11:51 a.m. in the 200 block of Juniper Avenue.

●  A dog barking incessantly was reported at 12:14 p.m. in the 1400 block of East 4th Avenue. The owner was warned.

On May 4:

●  A traffic hazard of debris in the roadway was reported at 9:01 a.m. in the 900 block of East 2nd Avenue. The item was removed.

●  A code violation involving a couch on the terrace was reported at 11:36 a.m. in the 2000 block of West 5th Avenue. A warning was issued.

●  A code violation involving junk left on the terrace was reported at 11:57 a.m. in the 1200 block of East 4th Avenue. A warning was issued.

●  An improperly maintained residence and property was reported at 1:17 p.m. in the 1800 block of West 3rd Avenue. Police observed no immediate violations.

●  Debris around a property was reported at 1:36 p.m. in the 100 block of East 3rd Avenue. A warning was issued.

●  Improperly maintained properties were reported at about 1:40 p.m. in the 1200 block of 14th Street; 500 block of 1st Center Avenue; 1300 block of West 3rd Avenue; 400 block of West 3rd Avenue; 1300 block of West 4th Avenue; and 1200 block of West 3rd Avenue. Police observed no immediate violations.

●  Code violations involving multiple vehicles on properties were reported at about 1:45 p.m. in the 1600 block of West 3rd Avenue; 700 block of West 2nd Avenue; and 700 block of West 2nd Avenue.  Police observed no immediate violations.

●  A Belvidere, Illinois man, 77, was cited for inattentive driving, operating left of center and failure to stop for an accident at 3:55 p.m. in the 400 block of 1st Street.

On May 7:

●  An illegal fire pit was reported at 12:29 a.m. in the 100 block of East 3rd Avenue. Police issued a warning.

●  A vehicle in violation of the city’s Junk Vehicle Ordinance was reported at 12:34 p.m. in the 800 block of 9th Street. Police issued a warning.

●  A Brodhead man, 21, was cited for disorderly conduct at 6:47 p.m. in the 300 block of 14th Street.

On May 8:

●  Three people in violation of park curfew were reported at 1:51 a.m. at Headgates Park, W705 Golf Course Rd. Police issued warnings.

●  A Brodhead woman, 40, was cited for inattentive driving at 7:26 a.m. following a traffic crash in the 1700 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  A theft was reported at 10:54 a.m. in the 1600 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  A gas drive-off was reported at 5:43 p.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue. It was determined this was an oversight. The person returned to pay for the fuel.

On May 9:

●  A dog at large was reported at 10:52 a.m. in the 800 block of 11th Street. The dog was returned to its owner.

●  A fraudulent Craigslist ad was reported at 11:13 a.m. in the 1500 block of 16th Street.

●  A Janesville man, 21, was cited for speeding at 6:13 p.m. in the 400 block of 23rd Street.

●  Police responded at 6:16 p.m. to the 1300 block of 1st Center Avenue for questions regarding a city ordinance, construction of a property and how late they could be making noise. The ordinance was explained to the complainant.

●  A gas drive-off was reported at 6:46 p.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue. It was determined this was an oversight. The person returned to pay for the fuel.

●  A Brodhead man, 40, was arrested for bail jumping at 7:37 p.m. in the 2100 block of 1st Center Avenue. A charge of driving with a revoked license (OWI-related revocation) was also referred to the District Attorney.

●  A Brodhead man, 26, was arrested at 8:28 p.m. in the 800 block of 25th Street on charges of domestic-related disorderly conduct, resisting or obstructing an officer and possessing THC and on a warrant issued by the Winnebago County, Illinois.


Monroe Police

MONROE — Tyrone S. W. Turner Jr., 22, Madison, was arrested on a Wisconsin Department of Corrections warrant for a probation violation at 3:51 a.m. May 9 in the 700 block of 21st Street. He was jailed pending court.


Green County Sheriff 

MONROE — Deputies responded for a report of a suspicious vehicle at 5:19 p.m. in the N2000 block of Schindler Road, Town of Jefferson. Investigation resulted in Anthony D. Black, 18, Monroe, being cited for possessing THC and drug paraphernalia.

●  Lashawn T. Thurman, 19, Freeport, and Hannah L. Swenson, 18, Monroe, were arrested on felony bail jumping charges at 12:12 p.m. May 8, as the result of an investigation, and jailed pending court.

●  Chelsea R. Knell, 30, Monroe, was cited for driving with a revoked license, failure to install an ignition interlock device and failure to obey a traffic sign following a traffic stop at 2:28 a.m. May 9 at Wis. 11 and County KK, Town of Sylvester. A passenger, Stephanie R. Scott, 31, Monroe, was arrested on a Green County warrant. She was jailed and later released.


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — On Sunday, April 26:

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 7:25 a.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Gratiot.

●  Robert F. Teasdale, 38, Monticello, was cited for no vehicle insurance at 7:39 a.m. on Wis 81, Town of Seymour.

●  Gary W. Olson Jr., 23, Cedar Point, Illinois, was cited for speeding at 8:13 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Seymour.

●  Nathanael M. Litka, 21, Dubuque, Iowa, was arrested on a warrant out of Dubuque County (Iowa) at 8:50 a.m. and taken to the jail, where he remained in custody.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 10:24 a.m. Sale Barn Road, Town of Elk Grove.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 10:58 a.m. on Monroe Street in Argyle.

●  Jill R. Engelbrecht, 50, Davis, Illinois, was cited for speeding at 3 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Gratiot.

●  Deputies assisted Darlington police with a suspicious activity investigation at 6:30 p.m. on Galena Street in Darlington.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 7:42 p.m. on Shawnee Road, Town of New Diggings.

●  Jodi R. Fitzsimons, 45, Darlington, was cited for speeding at 9:48 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Willow Springs.

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 11:22 p.m. on Miner Way in Shullsburg.

On Monday, April 27:

●  A deputy responded at 10:23 a.m. to Arthur Street in Darlington to assist Darlington police with a welfare check.

●  A deputy responded to assist a citizen at 12:17 p.m. on Shawnee Road, Town of Shullsburg.

●  A deputy responded at 4:21 p.m. to East Street in Darlington to assist Darlington police with a welfare check.

●  Leandra D. Hall, 38, Chicago, was cited for driving without a valid license at 9:51 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Darlington.

●  Michael R. Frechette, 19, Darlington, was cited for a seatbelt violation at 11:28 p.m. on East North Street in Darlington.

On April 28:

●  Steven M. Ball, 45, Rewey, was cited for driving without a valid license at 4:35 a.m. on Wis. 126, Town of Belmont.

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 8:36 a.m. on County D, Town of Wayne.

●  Deputies responded to check welfare at 1:20 p.m. on Main Street, Town of Gratiot.

●  Deputies responded to assist Argyle police with a disorderly conduct case at 3:02 p.m. on Valley Road, Town of Argyle.

●  Jacob D. Gilbertson, 28, South Wayne, was cited for allowing a dog to run at large after a deputy responded to a report of an animal problem at 7:58 p.m. on West Center Street in South Wayne.

●  A deputy responded at 8:28 p.m. to Willow Branch Road, Town of Darlington, to assist Dodgeville police with a welfare check.

●  An ordinance violation was reported at 9:09 p.m. on West Commerce Street in Belmont.

●  A deputy responded at 11:28 p.m. to Oates Street in Shullsburg for an animal bite report.

On April 29:

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 12:06 a.m. on 2nd Avenue in Benton.

●  A traffic complaint was reported at 5:40 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Elk Grove.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 9:38 a.m. on Shawnee Road, Town of New Diggings.
