Brodhead Police
BRODHEAD — For the week of March 8-14, police performed 18 security checks, 25 citizen assists, 10 assists of other agencies, 20 follow-ups to incidents and 13 vehicle registrations; responded to 30 calls for service and made five traffic stops; and reported four EMS calls, three fire calls and five 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls. No mental health or detox transports were reported.
On Monday, March 9:
● A counterfeit bill was reported at 10:39 a.m. in the 800 block of East Exchange Street.
● A subject revving a vehicle engine repeatedly was reported at 6:37 p.m. in the 1600 block of East 8th Avenue. Police issued a warning.
● The theft of a purse was reported at 8:14 p.m. in the 1600 block of 20th Street. The purse was later located by the complainant.
● Two dogs running at large were reported at 10:01 p.m. in the 2100 block of 1st Center Avenue. The dogs were not claimed and were turned over to the Green County Humane Society.
● A gunshot striking the door to a residence was reported at 7:17 p.m. in the 900 block of 19th Street. Upon investigation, police determined it was an accidental discharge while the gun was being cleaned.
On Tuesday, March 10:
● Five truancies were reported at 8:43 a.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue. All five were warned.
● A counterfeit bill was reported in the 800 block of East Exchange Street at 9:13 a.m. and again at 10:44 a.m. The matter remained under investigation.
● A barking dog was reported at 4:49 p.m. in the 1300 block of East 2nd Avenue. The matter is pending contact with the dog’s owner.
On Wednesday, March 11:
● A Brodhead man, 45, was cited for speeding at 5:38 p.m. in the 300 block of 23rd Street.
● Police responded at 10:49 p.m. to an alarm at a business in the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue. The business was checked and all appeared in order.
● A Brodhead woman, 23, was cited for not having her dog licensed or vaccinated following an investigation into an animal problem reported March 5.
On Friday, March 13:
● A subject causing a disturbance was reported at 8:57 p.m. in the 1000 block of 21st Street. Police issued a warning.
On Saturday, March 14:
● A missing juvenile was reported at 7:32 p.m. in the 300 block of East 9th Avenue. The juvenile was located and returned home without incident.
Monroe Police
MONROE — On Saturday, March 14:
● Thomas R. Schmid, 30, Monroe, was arrested for felony bail jumping at 3:16 a.m. in the 1100 block of 19th Street, after officers observed Schmid in a vehicle with a person with whom he was prohibited to have contact, a violation of court-ordered bond conditions. He was jailed.
● Officers were dispatched at 6:33 p.m. to check on a person in a laundromat in the 700 block of 10th Avenue Court. Investigation resulted in the arrest of Karol R. Schulz, 55, Warren, on a Green County warrant for failure to appear in court on a prior charge of driving without a valid license. Schulz was jailed.
On Sunday, March 15:
● Kaitlin M. Whiteaker, 23, Monroe, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while intoxicated after being stopped for an equipment violation at 12:51 a.m. on 6th Avenue West near West 7th Street. She was also cited for driving with a suspended license, possession of open intoxicants in a motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia and arrested for misdemeanor bail jumping for violating her court-ordered bond conditions. She was jailed.
Green County Sheriff
MONROE — Robert T. Baldwin, 63, Argyle, was arrested on a Department of Corrections warrant at about 6 p.m. Friday, March 13, in the N4600 block of Duncan Hill Road, Town of Jordan. He was taken to the jail.
On Saturday, March 14:
● Jesus P. Santillan Nunez, 29, Darlington, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while under the influence of alcohol after he was stopped for speeding at 2:58 a.m. in the W2000 block of Wis. 11, Town of Spring Grove. He was also cited for operating with a prohibited blood-alcohol concentration and driving without a valid license. He was released to a responsible party pending court.
● Connor P. Luch, 26, Madison, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while under the influence of alcohol after he was stopped for speeding at 5:05 p.m. in the N8700 block of Wis. 104, Town of Brooklyn. He was also cited for operating with a prohibited blood-alcohol concentration and possessing open intoxicants in a motor vehicle. He was jailed pending release to a responsible party and with a mandatory court date.

DARLINGTON — On Thursday, March 5:
● Suspicious activity was reported at 8:47 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg.
● A deputy responded to check welfare at 10:39 p.m. on Locust Street in Blanchardville.
On Friday, March 6:
● Allen R. Fengier, 29, Dixon, Illinois, was transported on a Lafayette County warrant from the Lee County Jail in Dixon to the Lafayette County Jail at about 7 a.m. He remained in custody.
● Kimberly S. Fields, 25, Hoboken, New Jersey, was cited for speeding at 1:36 p.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Gratiot.
● A civil dispute was reported at 4:33 p.m. on County G, Town of Willow Springs.
● A domestic dispute was reported at 6:07 p.m. on County G, Town of Willow Springs.
● A 911 misdial was reported at 8:12 p.m. on East Mound Road, Town of Belmont.
● A civil dispute was reported at 8:52 p.m. on East Milwaukee Street in Argyle.

● Deputies responded to check welfare at 12:04 p.m. on Main Street, Town of Gratiot. Gratiot First Response and Green County EMS of Darlington assisted on scene.
● Deputies responded at 1:47 p.m. to South Van Buren Street in Benton to assist Benton police with a juvenile problem.
● An animal injured on the roadway was reported at 7:51 p.m. on County M, Town of Darlington.
● A deputy responded to check welfare at 8:19 p.m. on West Estey Street in Shullsburg.
● An animal injured on the roadway was reported at 8:57 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Darlington.
● Tyler J. Meyer, 34, Cuba City, was cited for speeding at 10:50 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Gratiot.

● A deputy responded at 3:34 a.m. to 22nd Street in Hazel Green to assist the Grant County Sheriff’s Office with a disorderly conduct complaint.
● A deputy responded at 1:22 p.m. to West Center Street in South Wayne to assist with unlocking a vehicle.
● A 911 misdial was reported at 1:48 p.m. on Blake Street in Blanchardville.
● Brennan D. Shelton, 19, Monroe, was cited for speeding at 6:52 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg.
● A deputy responded at 11:09 p.m. to Provost Street in Scales Mound, Illinois, to assist the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office with a disorderly conduct complaint.
On Monday, March 9:
● An automobile theft was reported at 12:12 a.m. at the Evergreen Mobile Home Park on County XX, Town of Belmont. It turned out to be a civil matter involving a towed vehicle.
● A disabled vehicle was reported at 5:08 a.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg.
● A traffic hazard was reported at 6:33 a.m. on County F, Town of Willow Springs.
● Criminal damage to property was reported at 9:02 a.m. on West Mound View Avenue in Belmont.
● The theft of a pickup truck was reported at 9:08 a.m. on West Milwaukee Street in Argyle. It turned out to be a misunderstanding. The nephew of the owner had borrowed the vehicle and hadn’t brought it back.
● A deputy responded at 3:41 p.m. to Otter Creek Road, Town of Darlington, to assist the Green County Sheriff’s Office.
● An injured raccoon was reported at 5:43 p.m. on Jenkynsville Road in Benton.
● Mindee M. Larson, 37, Beloit, was arrested on a charge of operating while intoxicated after a deputy responded to a traffic complaint at 5:46 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Argyle. She was also cited for operating left of center and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She was brought to the sheriff’s office, where she was released to a responsible party.
● A disabled vehicle was reported at 6:50 p.m. on Carr Factory Road, Town of Benton.

● David M. Yuschak, 40, Platteville, was cited for driving with a suspended license at 2:39 a.m. on Center Drive in Darlington.
● A deputy assisted Darlington police with an alarm at 3:44 a.m. on Main Street in Darlington.
● A deputy responded at 4:03 a.m. to Wells Street in Darlington for an alarm.
● A deputy responded at 5:56 a.m. to Wis. 81, Town of Argyle, to assist with horses that had gotten out.
● A hit-and-run was reported at 1:23 p.m. on West Center Street in South Wayne.
● A traffic complaint was reported at 4:45 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Wayne. As a result, Reesan R. J. Ruch, 21, Chandler, Arizona, was cited for no proof of vehicle insurance.
● An animal problem was reported at 5:33 p.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Wiota.
● A deputy responded to check welfare at 7:32 p.m. on West Water Street in Shullsburg.
● A traffic hazard was reported at 8:18 p.m. on County G, Town of Willow Springs.

● A restraining order violation was reported at 4:34 p.m. on East Center Drive in South Wayne.
● Deputies responded to check welfare at 6:02 p.m. on School Street in Gratiot.
● Livestock on the roadway was reported at 7:15 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Argyle.
● Samantha K. Anderson, 24, Janesville, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, battery and trespassing after deputies responded at 7:36 p.m. to a disorderly conduct complaint at a residence in the 100 block of School Street, Town of Gratiot. She was jailed.
On Friday, March 13:
● An injured deer was reported at 6:51 a.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Benton.
● Livestock on the roadway was reported at 7:23 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Argyle.
● Illegal dumping was reported at 3:01 p.m. on County M, Town of Wiota.
● A traffic complaint was reported at 4:28 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Wayne.
● Livestock on the roadway was reported at 5:55 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Argyle.
● A civil dispute was reported at 6:56 p.m. on Main Street in Gratiot.
● Justin L. Redfearn, 35, Hazel Green, was arrested on a domestic abuse-related charge of disorderly conduct after deputies responded at 10:09 p.m. to a report of fighting and arguing at a residence in the 30000 block of Edison Road, Town of Benton. Benton First Response and Hazel Green EMS assisted deputies on scene. Redfearn was transported from the scene for evaluation of injuries, then brought to the jail, where he posted bond.
● Livestock on the roadway was reported at 11:16 p.m. on County F, Town of Blanchard.
● A vehicle in the ditch was reported at 11:51 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Elk Grove.
