Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — For the week of July 12-18, police performed 59 security checks, 22 citizen assists, 13 assists of other agencies, 17 follow-ups to incidents, 12 vehicle registrations and eight traffic stops; responded to 34 calls for service and reported nine EMS calls, 12 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls and two fire calls. No detox transports or mental health transports were reported.

On July 12:

●  A fireworks violation was reported at 12:08 a.m. in the 1500 block of East 8th Avenue. Police checked the area but were unable to locate the source of the violation.

●  A Brodhead man, 24, was cited for a violation of the city’s 48-hour parking ordinance at 3:59 a.m. in the 1100 block of West 5th Avenue.

●  A dog at large was reported at 8:32 a.m. in the 1300 block of 13th Street. Police issued a warning.

●  A dog at large was reported at 11:38 a.m. in the 1400 block of East 4th Avenue. Police issued a warning.

●  A vehicle blocking a driveway was reported at 2:17 p.m. in the 900 block of 19th Street. Police issued a warning.

●  A Rockford woman, 40, was cited for driving with a suspended license at 7:18 p.m. in the 2100 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  Disorderly conduct was reported at 8:06 p.m. in the 500 block of 11th Street. Police issued warnings.

●  A barking dog was reported at 9:35 p.m. in the 1300 block of West 4th Avenue. Police issued a warning.

●  A broken stop sign post was reported at 10:44 p.m. in the 1000 block of East 2nd Avenue.

●  Disorderly conduct was reported at 11:31 p.m. in the 1000 block of West Exchange Street. Police issued warnings.

On July 13:

●  Debris around a property was reported at 9:22 a.m. in the 100 block of East 3rd Avenue. Police issued a warning.

●  An Argyle man, 23, was cited for driving with a revoked license and displaying an unauthorized registration plate at 6:14 p.m. in the 900 block of 21st Street.

On July 14:

●  A traffic crash on private property was reported at 4:04 p.m. in the 300 block of 23rd Street. Police issued a warning for inattentive driving and no proof of insurance.

●  A Brodhead man, 24, was cited for allowing a dog to roam at large at 6:16 p.m. in the 900 block of East 6th Avenue.

On July 15:

●  A hazard of a knocked-down sign was reported at 6:15 p.m. in the 200 block of 1st Center Avenue. The matter was turned over to the Brodhead Streets Department.

On July 16:

●  A package taken from a front porch was reported at 1:49 p.m. in the 1400 block of West 4th Avenue.

●  A Juda woman, 19, was cited for driving without a valid license at 9:21 p.m. in the 500 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  An Evansville woman, 37, was cited for no vehicle insurance at 9:31 p.m. in the 500 block of 1st Center Avenue.

On July 17:

●  A traffic crash involving a tractor hitting a vehicle at an intersection was reported at 11:42 a.m. in the 1700 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  A traffic crash involving a vehicle hitting a stopped vehicle was reported at 5:13 p.m. in the 100 block of East 9th Avenue.

●  A Brodhead man, 17, was cited for disorderly conduct at 7:59 p.m. in the 600 block of 16th Street.

●  A fireworks violation was reported at 9:47 p.m. in the 1000 block of East 9th Avenue. Police checked the area but did not locate the source of the violation.

●  A Brodhead woman, 32, was cited for non-registration of an auto and no vehicle insurance at 10:48 p.m. in the 1900 block of 1st Center Avenue.

On July 18:

●  A Freeport man, 37, was cited for inattentive driving and failure to wear a seatbelt following a traffic crash at 3:48 a.m. in the 500 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  A Brodhead woman, 40, was cited for allowing a dog to roam at large at 7:05 a.m. in the 1200 block of 25th Street.

●  Damage to property was reported at 8:54 a.m. in the 400 block of West 3rd Avenue.

●  A Freeport man, 40, was cited for driving without a valid license and no vehicle insurance at 9:31 p.m. in the 1200 block of 1st Center Avenue.


Darlington Police

DARLINGTON — Javier Morales-Lopez, 24, Darlington, was cited for driving without a valid license and possessing open intoxicants in a motor vehicle at 3:38 a.m. July 12 on Galena Street.

●  Juan Jimenez-Hernandez, 38, Darlington, was cited for driving without a valid license and failing to stop at a stop sign at 12:37 a.m. July 16 on Main Street.


Monticello Police

MONTICELLO — On July 11:

●  A lost kitten was reported at 2:30 p.m. and located on the 200 block of East Wisconsin Avenue. An owner was not located. The kitten was taken to the Green County Humane Society.

●  Police assisted with a bicycle registration at 4:23 p.m.

●  An abandoned vehicle was reported at 6:25 p.m. on Adams Road. The vehicle was later removed by the owner.

●  A found package was reported at 6:30 p.m. on the 500 block of East Lake Avenue. The package was turned over to the owner.

●  A lost dog was reported at 7:35 p.m. on North Main Street at East Lake Avenue. The dog was recovered by the owner.

On July 13:

●  Police responded to a dog chasing a TDS worker and a Street Department worker at 8:30 a.m. on the 100 block of Main Street. James Schubert, 58, Monticello, was cited for allowing a dog to roam at large.

●  Eric Carroll, 61, Brodhead, was cited for having lawn grass higher than eight inches at 9:11 a.m.

●  A solar battery charger was found on the road at 11:17 a.m. on the 600 block of North Monroe Street.

●  Thomas Larson, 29, Evansville, was cited for failing to wear a seatbelt at 3:09 p.m. on Wis. 69 at West Coates Avenue.

●  Brian Santoro, 45, Monroe, was cited for failing to wear a seatbelt at 3:24 p.m. on Wis. 69 at West Coates Avenue.

●  Maximus Chicker, 19, Monticello, was cited for failing to wear a seatbelt at 3:43 p.m. on Wis. 69 at West Coates Avenue.

●  Shane Manning, 40, Monroe, was cited for failing to wear a seatbelt at 4:12 p.m. on Wis. 69 at West Coates Avenue.

On July 14:

●  Police removed a road hazard at 9:51 a.m. in the 200 block of Wis. 69 in the southbound lane.

●  A stolen iPhone was reported at 9:54 a.m. on the 100 block of North Monroe Street.

●  Police assisted with a bicycle registration at 10:31 a.m.

On July 16:

●  A driving complaint was reported at 9:55 a.m. on Wis. 69. The vehicle was not located.

●  A disabled vehicle was reported at 9:57 a.m. on West Coates Avenue at Wis. 69. The vehicle was removed by the operator.

●  Trespassing was reported at 5:29 p.m. in the 200 block of North Main Street.

●  Police assisted a citizen at 8:10 p.m. regarding parking on North Main Street

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 8:30 p.m. in the 200 block of North Main Street.

On July 17:

●  James Schubert, 58, Monticello, was cited for allowing a dog to roam at large at 4:02 p.m., after a dog bite was reported on the 100 block of North Monroe Street.

●  Donald Black, 25, Albany, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while intoxicated and with a prohibited blood-alcohol concentration at 8:46 p.m. after police responded to a report of a swerving vehicle on Wis. 69.


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — On June 18:

●  A male juvenile was cited for speeding on an ATV at 3:18 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Darlington.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 3:21 p.m. on County XX, Town of Belmont.

●  Brandon G. Diddens, 41, South Wayne, was cited for speeding at 6:12 p.m. on County W, Town of Monticello.

●  A deputy responded at 11 p.m. to East Main Street in Shullsburg to check welfare.

●  Campers being loud and playing loud music was reported at 11:42 p.m. at the Yellowstone Lake Chalet Campground, 18472 N. Lake Rd., Town of Blanchard.

On June 19:

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 5:47 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Lamont.

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 1:56 p.m. on County M, Town of Wiota. The complainant found a marijuana pipe while cleaning out a house trailer after the tenants were evicted.

●  A deputy responded to unlock a vehicle at 2:04 p.m. on South Penn Street in Belmont.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 2:14 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont.

●  A traffic complaint was reported at 8 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont.

●  Matthew W. Barnard, 20, Darlington, was cited for speeding at 8:45 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Darlington.

●  A traffic complaint was reported at 11:10 p.m. on 3rd Street in Benton.

●  Scott J. Wedig, 45, Argyle, was arrested on a charge of operating while intoxicated at 11:24 p.m. on County F, Town of Fayette. He was also cited for speeding, then released to a responsible party.

On June 20:

●  A deputy responded to assist a citizen at 12:18 a.m. on Cub Hollow Road, Town of Darlington.

●  Hermenejildoi Atluhua-Mayuhua, 25, Darlington was cited for operating while intoxicated at 1:35 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Darlington.

●  A deputy responded to keep the peace at 6:50 a.m. on County G, Town of Willow Springs.

●  Deputies responded at 11:49 a.m. to Rose Lane, Town of Argyle, for a residential alarm.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 12:07 p.m. on Palfrey Road, Town of Shullsburg.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 12:19 a.m. on North Park Street in Benton.

●  An animal problem was reported at 2:05 p.m. on Red School Road, Town of Benton.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 6:54 p.m. on Spore Road, Town of Argyle.

●  A deputy responded at 7:46 p.m. to Keep Street in Darlington to assist Darlington police with a welfare check.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 7:48 p.m. on Meier Road, Town of Wayne.

●  Alyssa E. Martins, 26, Janesville, was cited for no vehicle insurance at 8:27 p.m. on Wis. 11 in South Wayne.

●  Brian R. Schilling, 36, Darlington, was cited for failure to attach an ATV registration plate to the rear of a vehicle in legible condition at 11:18 p.m. on Short Cut Road, Town of Willow Springs.

●  Susan A. Redfearn, 50, Platteville, was arrested on charges of bail jumping and disorderly conduct after deputies responded to check welfare at 11:36 p.m. at the Evergreen Village Mobile Home Park, 30972 County XX, Town of Belmont. She is in the process of being evicted from a residence there. She was jailed.

On June 21:

●  Chad T. Morrissey, 32, Darlington, was arrested on a charge of operating while intoxicated at 12:41 a.m. on Main Street in Darlington. He was taken to the sheriff's office, where he was released to a responsible party. He was also cited for open intoxicants and operating left of center.

●  Francisco J. Robles, 23, Arena, was arrested in Fennimore in Grant County on a Lafayette County warrant at 12:57 a.m. and brought to the Lafayette County Jail.

●  A disabled vehicle was reported at 9:11 a.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 5:28 p.m. on Lake Road, Town of Fayette.

●  Lost property was reported at 6:05 p.m. on Miner Way in Shullsburg.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 6:45 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Gratiot.

●  People on ATVs or UTVs trespassing on private property were reported for disorderly conduct at 7:05 p.m. off the Cheese Country Trail at Red Rock Road, Town of Darlington. One of the trespassers was trying to start a fight with the landowner and had been pepper-sprayed. Green County EMS of Darlington responded to decontaminate the pepper-sprayed person.

●  A deputy responded at 8:08 p.m. to County M, Town of Wiota, for a citizen assist.

●  A civil dispute was reported at 8:58 p.m. on Main Street in Gratiot.

●  A traffic hazard was reported at 8:59 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Darlington.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 10:30 p.m. on South State Street in Argyle.

●  A traffic hazard was reported at 11:06 p.m. on Whiteside Road, Town of Wiota.

On June 22:

●  A traffic hazard was reported at 5:12 a.m. on Ferndale Road, Town of Benton.

●  A deputy responded at 11:30 a.m. to Madison Street in Darlington to assist Darlington police with a welfare check.

●  A deputy responded at 3:53 p.m. to East Prospect Street in South Wayne to assist the Rock County Sheriff's Office.

●  An erratic driver was reported at 7:49 p.m. on Sheldon Street in Gratiot.

●  Mark J. Runde, 21, Platteville, was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign at 9:10 p.m. on West Mound Road, Town of Belmont.

●  A male juvenile was cited for careless operation of an ATV and not wearing headgear at 11:55 p.m. on Mitchell Hollow Road, Town of Belmont.

On June 23:

●  Deputies responded to check welfare at 1:01 a.m. on County XX, Town of Belmont. Platteville police assisted.

●  A traffic hazard was reported at 10:12 a.m. on County O, Town of White Oak Springs.

●  A deputy responded at 10:25 a.m. to Wis. 11 in South Wayne to unlock a vehicle.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 12:56 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Darlington.

●  An erratic driver was reported at 3:58 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Willow Springs. Darlington police assisted on scene.

●  A civil dispute between a mother and son over property was reported at 5:43 p.m. on North Green Street in Argyle.

●  Terry J. Aide, 26, Livingston, was cited for driving with a suspended license, no vehicle insurance, speeding and failure to stop for a stop sign at 10:10 p.m. on West Mound Road, Town of Belmont. In addition, Larry E. Davidson, 26, Rewey, and David S. Washburn, 29, Livingston, were cited for no vehicle insurance.

On June 24:

●  Justin L. Johnson, 34, Argyle, was cited for driving with a suspended license and no vehicle insurance at 1:23 a.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg.

●  A traffic complaint was reported at 5:55 a.m. on County XX, Town of Belmont.

●  Illegal dumping was reported at 6:43 a.m. on County XX, Town of Belmont.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 8:38 a.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Willow Springs.

●  A deputy assisted Argyle police with a harassment case at 10:34 a.m. on Spruce Street in Argyle.

●  Sean D. Day, 18, Platteville, was cited for speeding at 12:20 p.m. on County XX, Town of Belmont.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 1:08 p.m. on North Van Buren Street in Benton.

●  A resident making threats against a garbage company employee doing a pickup was reported at 3:01 p.m. on County XX, Town of Belmont.

●  A traffic hazard was reported at 5:08 p.m. on County K, Town of Darlington.

●  A theft of three bicycles was reported at 6:54 p.m. on School Street in Gratiot.

On June 25:

●  A deputy responded at 5:41 a.m. to assist Grant County on Carr Factory Road, Town of Benton.

●  A 911 misdial reported at 7:18 a.m. on Mullen Road, Town of White Oak Springs.

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 8:13 a.m. on Holland Road, Town of Kendall. A farmer reported someone had cut his fence and his cattle were mixing with a neighbor's cattle.

●  Deputies responded at 9:11 a.m. to West Grove Street in South Wayne to assist Freeport police.

●  A hit-and-run was reported at 1:02 p.m. on Evergreen Road, Town of Belmont.

●  A deputy responded to assist a motorist at 3:45 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of New Diggings.

●  Possible theft of a vehicle was reported at 3:53 p.m. on County O, Town of Seymour. In fact, the vehicle had been moved without the owner's knowledge.

●  A deputy responded to unlock a vehicle at 8:03 p.m. on County G, Town of Willow Springs.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 8:17 p.m. on English Hollow Road, Town of Fayette, and at 8:54 p.m. on County F, Town of Fayette.

●  Gabrielle L. Aranza, 19, Hoffman Estates, Illinois, was cited for speeding at 8:57 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont.

●  A deputy encountered a disabled vehicle at 9:16 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Willow Springs.

On June 26:

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 12:10 a.m. on Faymont Road, Town of Darlington.

●  Deputies responded to check welfare at 7:10 a.m. on County E, Town of Darlington.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 11:18 a.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Willow Springs.

●  A Facebook fraud scheme was reported at 5:18 p.m. on County I, Town of Benton. A man agreed to have money deposited into his bank account, and it was then fraudulently obtained. The incident is under investigation in another jurisdiction.

●  Hayden J. Wagner, 17, Lancaster, was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign at 8:30 p.m. on West Mound Road, Town of Belmont.

●  John P. Foley, 53, Darlington, was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign at 9 p.m. on West Mound Road, Town of Belmont.

On June 27:

●  A deputy responded to assist a citizen at 2:03 a.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont. Belmont police assisted.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 10:13 a.m. on Short Cut Road, Town of Willow Springs.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 11:19 a.m. on County F, Town of Seymour.

●  Theft by an employee was reported at 12:58 p.m. at First Capital Mini Mart, 423 N. Mound Ave., Belmont. As a result, Amy Lynn Shugars, 37, Platteville, was arrested on charges of theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.

●  Christine M. Moore, 51, Madison, was arrested on a charge of operating while intoxicated at 1:26 p.m. on County E, Town of Shullsburg. She was transported to the sheriff's office, where she was released to a responsible party.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 3:29 p.m. on Meylor Lane, Town of Willow Springs.

●  Edward A. Wiegman, 45, Kieler, was cited for speeding at 7:30 p.m. on County W, Town of New Diggings.

●  Theft was reported at 8:23 p.m. on Palfrey Road, Town of New Diggings. It turned out to be a civil dispute between family members over vehicle ownership.

●  A deputy responded at 9:30 p.m. to County F, Town of Fayette, to assist the Department of Natural Resources with a traffic stop.

On June 28:

●  Deputies assisted Blanchardville police with an ATV complaint at 3:18 a.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Blanchard.

●  A deputy responded at 4:09 a.m. to East Ann Street in Darlington to assist Darlington police.

●  A deputy responded at 4:35 a.m. to Clay Street in Darlington to assist Darlington police with a domestic dispute case.

●  A deputy responded to unlock a vehicle at 7:46 a.m. on Main Street in Blanchardville.

●  A deputy responded to assist a citizen at 8:08 a.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Blanchard.

●  A suspicious parked vehicle was reported at 9:19 a.m. at a residence on Palfrey Road, Town of Shullsburg. The complaint was unfounded. The property owner works for the company that owns the truck.

●  A person making threats to injure was reported at 10:55 a.m. on North Charity Street in Shullsburg.

●  A deputy responded to assist with unlocking a vehicle at 4:43 p.m. on North State Street in Argyle.

●  An erratic driver was reported at 7:08 p.m. on County O, Town of Shullsburg.
