On June 16:

● At 10:04 p.m., officers were called to a hit and run traffic accident in the 800 block of 12th Avenue. The investigation indicated that a vehicle operated by Carlos O. Mairena Herrera (39), of Monroe, traveling south in the 800 block of 12th Avenue, lost control and collided with a legally parked unattended vehicle. Mairena Herrera fled the scene, but was located shortly after. Both vehicles sustained moderate damages. Mairena Herrera was arrested for operating while intoxicated-1st offense, operating with an alcohol concentration greater than .15, and was also cited for operating without a valid driver’s license, failure to maintain control of a vehicle, hit and run to an unattended vehicle, failure to notify police of an accident, operating without headlights, failure to stop for a stop sign, and operating without vehicle insurance. Mairena Herrera was released to a responsible adult pending a court appearance.

On June 22:

● At 10:40 a.m., officers arrested Candalario Mejia Gutierrez, 46, of Monticello, in the 1800 block of 12th Street, on a warrant issued by the Monroe Police Department for failure to appear in court for a disorderly conduct case. Mejia Gutierrez was confined in the Green County Jail pending further proceedings.
