On August 22:

● 12:12 p.m. Argyle Fire and EMS responded to E Milwaukee ST in the Village for a possible carbon monoxide leak.

● 8:28 p.m. Deputies responded to Main ST in the Village of Gratiot for a domestic dispute. Jason P Briand, 43, Gratiot was arrested for Domestic Disorderly Conduct and brought to the Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and posted bond.

On August 23:

● 12:35 a.m. A deputy responded to W Mound RD, Belmont Township for a one vehicle crash. Platteville Police, Platteville Fire and Southwest Health EMS assisted on scene.

● 5:02 a.m. James Brown, 76, Monroe reported striking a deer on STH 23, Darlington Township. No injuries were reported and Brown’s 2005 Chrysler received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

● 5:54 a.m. Carlyn L Klotzbach, 54, Apple River, IL reported striking a deer on STH 11, Shullsburg Township. No injuries were reported and Klotzbach’s 2013 GMC received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

● 10:05 a.m. Stacy LM Fry, 55, Shullsburg reported striking a deer on STH 11, Wayne Township. No injuries were reported and Fry’s 2014 Ford received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

● 11:47 a.m. A deputy responded to CTH G, Belmont Township for property damage.

● 2:18 p.m. Benton Fire and First Response and Hazel Green EMS responded to Carr Factory RD, Benton Township for a baler fire. A deputy assisted.

● 11:54 p.m. Deputies responded to CTH I, New Diggings Township for a one vehicle accident. Juan C Hernandez, 22, Shullsburg was traveling southbound on CTH I in a 2011 Chevrolet when he failed to negotiate a curve and entered the ditch, striking a pole and road sign before coming to rest in a field. Hernandez was transported to the hospital and his vehicle was towed from the scene. Hernandez was cited for Failure to Maintain Control, No Insurance, and Operate without a Valid Driver’s License. Benton First and Fire, Hazel Green EMS, and Scenic Rivers assisted on scene.

On August 24:

● 5:35 p.m. A Deputy responded to Lake Rd in Yellowstone State Park, in the Town of Fayette, for a disorderly dispute.

● 10:23 p.m. A Deputy responded to the intersection CTH W & CTH PP in the Town of Monticello for suspicious activity.

● 11:10 p.m. Brian K. Frank, 49, Scales Mound IL, was cited for Open Intoxicants and speeding in a UTV on CTH XX in Belmont Township.

On August 25:

● 1:49 a.m. A deputy responded to Ench RD, Benton Township for suspicious activity.

● 9:13 a.m. A deputy responded to Mason ST in the Village of Blanchardville for a civil dispute.

● 11:59 a.m. A deputy responded to E Mary ST in the City of Darlington to assist Darlington Police with a domestic dispute.

● 3:18 p.m. A deputy responded to S Splinter ST in the City of Cuba City for a custody dispute.

● 3:59 p.m. A deputy responded to N Warren ST in the Village of South Wayne for trespassing.

● 10:07 p.m. A deputy responded to E Main ST in the Village of Benton for property damage.

● 10:26 p.m. Deputies responded to the Cheese Country Trail, Willow Springs Township for an ATV accident. Nathen R Downs, 33, Rewey was traveling northbound on the trail in a 2024 Kawasaki when he lost control and crashed into a bridge. Downs and his passenger, Joshua E Reger, 33, Mineral Point denied EMS. The Kawasaki was towed from the scene with disabling damage. Downs was cited for Operating an ATV while Intoxicated. Both parties were released to a responsible party.
