Cooling sites open

MONROE - A cooling site in Monroe has opened for those who need to escape the oppressive summer heat. The site, at the Green County Justice Center, 2841 6th St., will be open daily, from 10 a.m. to 5, p.m., through Friday.

Officials are opening multi-purpose rooms 2 and 3, on the justice center's lower level, to anyone who needs a place to cool off. Water will be available.

The heat is expected to continue through week's end.

Brodhead

BRODHEAD - A cooling room will be provided at the Brodhead Memorial Library, 1207 25th St., Brodhead, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 20 and Thursday, July 21. For additional information, contact the library at (608) 897-4070.
