MONROE - The next Cheese Days may be more than 16 months away, but area residents can get a glimpse of the famous fest on television this weekend.

Green County Cheese Days Festival will be included as part of an episode on "Discover Wisconsin TV" this weekend. Show host Emmy Fink and her film crew were in Monroe for last September's festival to get footage for the episode, as well as for a Green County Cheese Days 100th anniversary episode to air later this year.

"Uniquely Wisconsin Festivals" features dairy-related events including Cheese Days, the Wisconsin Cow Chip Throw in Sauk City, the Great Wisconsin Cheese Festival in Little Chute and the Championship Cheese Curd Throw in Colby.

The show, sponsored by Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board, airs this weekend, Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5, on stations throughout Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa and Minnesota. Locally, it can be viewed at 6:30 p.m. Saturday on Madison's WKOW Channel 27.

Beginning the week of Monday, May 6, it can be viewed on Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board's website, www.EatWisconsinCheese.com. Click on the "Wisconsin" button and then on "Wisconsin Dairy News."
