Celebrating Our Past: Green County Historical Society
35763a.jpg
This photograph is printed on the top of page 25 in A Glimpse Back In Time, published by the Green County Historical Society in 2010. The photographs in the book give us some idea of what life was like in Monroe between 1910 and 1920. Notice the clothing on these people who are walking south on the west side of the Square. Most of the locations of the photos in the book have been determined. If you would like to receive a copy of the locations, you may send an email to Matt at mfigi48@tds.net or else send $1.00 to GCHS, PO Box 804, Monroe for a copy to be mailed to you. Copies of this book and the Pictorial History of Monroe are currently available for purchase at Sequels Fine Interior Consignments and Schultz Pharmacy on the east side of the Square and at the National Historic Cheesemaking Center. You may direct questions to Matt at 608-325-6503. (Photo supplied by the Green County Historical Society)
