What are the top issues facing this district/board/office and how would you work to resolve them?

Job creation is still lagging in Wisconsin, an issue that needs to be addressed with education to better train the unemployed; education funding and shared revenue for municipalities need to be brought up to date by reviewing the formulas used; all infrastructure from local township roads, to city streets to interstate highways and bridges and pubic transportation funding need to be reviewed and new sources of revenue need to be researched and implemented.

What are other key issues facing the district/board/office, and how would you work to resolve them?

Redistricting by a non-partisan entity has been a strong issue that I would support; voter ID issues are very confusing right now, we need a simple and concise process to provide IDs to anyone who needs one to vote.

Why are you the best candidate for this office?

I have strong experience at different levels of government, from local government as an Alderwoman and Mayor to the State Assembly. I have very diversified committee experience at the local level in finance, planning, utilities, public works, pubic safety, fire district, parks and recreation and economic development; at the State level I have experience in veterans affairs, urban and local affairs, workforce development, small business development and government affairs committees.

I have been involved in many community organizations from Stoughton Hospital Board of Directors, Rock County Literacy Connection, Green County Emergency Management, Chamber of Commerce, VFW Auxiliary, Evansville Community Partnership, Creekside Place Community Center, and others.

Being involved in many different groups has given me the opportunity to interact with people from all walks of life and diversified backgrounds, I have worked well with all groups and enjoyed getting to know them and understand their needs. I have a strong work ethic and the ability to collaborate and accomplish what I set out to do. I look forward to serving the residents to the 15th Senate District and working with them to make Wisconsin a better place to live, work and play.
