MADISON - TDS Telecommunications Corp. is hosting a pre-bid meeting to outline plans for broadband network expansion in Wisconsin, including areas around Monroe.
Five projects will be outlined at the meeting starting at 9 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, at the TDS Telecommunications Corp. office, 525 Junction Road, Madison. Construction companies and contractors are expected to attend the meeting and learn more about TDS' projects, which are funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
Construction on many sites will begin this spring. Most networks will be completed in 2012 and the remaining in 2013.
The projects will expand broadband Internet services to more than 2,400 customers in areas served by TDS' phone companies in Wisconsin, including UTELCO, LLC.
TDS was has been awarded 44 grants totaling nearly $136 million to expand high-speed Internet services in 20 states.
