NEW GLARUS - The New Glarus School Board will meet Wednesday to replace a position vacated by outgoing president Chris Bowie, who is leaving the state for another job.

Bowie's last meeting was April 3, Board member Janet Sherven said. He was board president for one year.

The board will interview five candidates for Bowie's open school board seat. The candidates are Kim Bright, Nathan Johnson, Robert Yeiser, Mary Ann Oemichen and Tom Christensen. Johnson ran for the school board in April. Christensen is a former board member and has also served as board president.

Sherven said the board hopes to select a person Wednesday to fill the open seat. The board meets with the candidates at 6:15 p.m. in the High School Library.

Board Vice President Marty Andersen, who was elected to another term on the board April 7, is serving as board president.

The School Board has a reorganization meeting April 27; Sherven said officers will be selected at that meeting for the upcoming year.
