MONROE - During the week of March 28, Dane County Contracting completed the installation of water main and services, as well as sanitary sewer main and services along 8th Street from Highway 69 to 8th Avenue.
Next week, Dane County Contracting will install water main across 8th Street at 10th Avenue near the Highlander mall. After this is completed, they will start installing water main along 9th Street at 11th Avenue and continue to work east towards the downtown.
They plan to work two blocks at a time with the installation of water main and sanitary sewer along with the reconnection of sewer and water services before moving to the next two blocks.
On Wednesday, April 6, the street contractor, Rock Road Companies, will commence with the street portion of the project.
They will start with the installation of erosion control and construction signage.
At this time the entire length of 9th and 8th Street will be closed off to traffic with the exception of cross traffic at the intersections.
Once the road is closed off, the tree removal crew will start with tree and brush removal throughout the project limits.
