MONROE — The Green County Historical Society is advertising a special price on these three picture books offered by the society. They are all three different, containing photos printed on shiny, heavy-duty quality pages.

The Pictorial Histories are each captioned, with the Glimpse book containing photos by early Monroe photographer, William Trukenbrod. The new discounted price will be these three books for $25, or $10 per book.

The trilogy is a historical account of the early history of Monroe in photos and text. The books, complied by Matt Figi, local historian, are a wonderful item for the history buff of Monroe and make a wonderful gift.

The books can be seen and purchased at the museum 1617 9th street on Monday mornings, or by calling 608-325-9730. Orders will be offered on our website Green County Historical Society with a small shipping fee per book. They will be available for sale at the fundraising breakfast at the Moose Lodge on Nov. 5 and during the Holiday décor sale at the museum Nov. 17-18 and 24-25.

The GCHS has totally reorganized its museum both upstairs and down and are still looking for items of the 1960s through the 1990s. They would appreciate donations of an aluminum Christmas tree, portable teen record player, penny loafers or any 1960s through 1990s memorabilia.
