Willie and Lauren Nelson, Juda, talk about their best friends 1-year-old Slick, an English springer spaniel, and Charlie, a 1-year-old cat.
Lauren got Slick for Willie as a Christmas gift, unexpectedly the same day Willie proposed to Lauren. Charlie joined the family after Willie found him on a farm and decided to bring him home. While Charlie and Slick didn’t like each other at first, Lauren said they get along fine now.

Describe Slick and Charlie’s personalities.
Slick is wild, crazy and hyper. He’s energetic, but well-mannered. He’s my cuddle bug. He likes going bird hunting.
Charlie is fat and lazy. He likes to cuddle. He never growls and he doesn’t hiss. He’s very laid back.
What do you like to do together?
Well, Charlie doesn’t leave the house. Slick likes to go for walks on the beach — oceanfront.
He loves water. He’s definitely a hunting dog and loves going for rides.
What has it been like having Slick and Charlie in your lives?
Eventful. There’s never a dull moment in the Nelson household.
