Jordyn and Joey VanMatre talk about their best friends Samson and Stella, 4-year-old orange cats.
The VanMatres knew they wanted an animal, and knew a dog would be too time-consuming so they landed on a cat. They picked out Stella on Facebook because of her blue eyes.
Samson on the other hand, picked out the VanMatres. He showed up at the house and won them over with his friendliness.

Describe Stella and Samson’s personalities.
Stella is very independent. Sometimes she’s sassy and curious. She loves us, but not very many other people. She’s partial to her owners.
Samson is basically a dog. He’ll greet you when you come home every night. He’ll sleep with us and he’ll always come and sit by you. He’s very loyal. If you call for him he typically comes.
What do you like to do together?
We like to snuggle and sleep. They like to get treats. They also like to sit in their cat tree and sun bathe.
What has it been like having Samson and Stella in your lives?
We don’t know what we would do if Samson wasn’t here to greet us. They keep us company and they love us all the time. It’s nice to be loved.
