Winneshiek Players to hold auditions for final show on Feb. 6

FREEPORT - Winneshiek Players is holding open auditions for the final show of its 86th season, "Nana's Naughty Knickers,' at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, at the Winneshiek Playhouse, 228 West Clark St.

Auditions will consist of readings from the script and those who read do not need to have previous theatrical experience. Production and backstage crew members are also needed. The show runs Saturday, May 5 and Thursday, May 10 through Saturday, May 12.

Characters of the play include Sylvia Charles and Vera Walters, described as early 80s, partners in crime and sassy; Bridget Charles, mid to late 20s, law student; Tom O'Grady: early 30s to early 40s; Gil Schmidt: mid 50s to mid 60s; Heather Van Pree: mid 20s to mid 30s; Clair: the big client, mid 60s; and two other minor male roles, 30s to 40s.

The comedy follows Bridget who is planning a stay with her grandmother in New York for the summer. The visit quickly turns into an experience she will never forget: Grandma is running an illegal boutique from her apartment selling handmade naughty knickers to senior citizens.
